Action Update: 40 Days for Life. Let Prepare now for the Prayer Outreach for the Gospel of Life.

from John Pisciotta,Director
Pro-Life Waco
This amazing pro-life ministry is called 40 Days for Life. It launches in 375 cities worldwide on September 27. And, that includes W-a-c-o, as we volunteer to pray for moms, babies, and families from dozens of counties in Planned Parenthood’s Waco target area.
We are 10 days out from the largest and most important outreach in the history of the Waco battle against Planned Parenthood abortion of Central Texas babies. This newsletter will focus on the Central Texas 40 Days for Life prayer vigil that will take place at Waco Planned Parenthood, 1121 Ross Avenue.

1. Volunteer now to pray an hour, or hours, during 40 Days for Life

We need your heart and voice in the 40 Days for Life prayer vigil. We will be peaceful, prayerful, and lawful in all we do. Click here for the link to a prayer volunteer sign-up up form.

You can print it and fill it out. At the bottom of the form, there are instructions on how to return the information on the form. One simple way is to mail the page back to PLW, PO Box 7771, Waco, TX 76714. You can fold it in thirds and save the need for an envelope. Oh, yes. Get your friends to fill out the form too.

You can choose one of two levels of participation. Level I is one (or more) hours of prayer at Planned Parenthood during the entire 40 Days for Life. Almost all of us can come out to pray for one hour.

Level II participation is one hour for each of the 6 weeks during the 40 Days for Life prayer vigil.

You can choose any hours from 7 AM to 7 PM Monday through Saturday. However, we do have unfilled gaps as you can see on graph.

For the white blocks, we currently have no prayer volunteer. Please choose one of these blocks if it works with your schedule. It is also fine to add your prayerful presence to one of the green blocks if that works better for you.

2. Kick-Off Rally for 40 Days on Tuesday at 6 PM at Planned Parenthood.

Along with most other 40 Days for Life campaigns, Waco will have a Kick-Off Rally. All our 40 Days for Life events will be at the PP abortion center at 1121 Ross Avenue. The Kick-Off Rally will include fellowship time, testimonies, shared experiences, and, of course, prayer. At the Kick-Off Rally, you can pick up a terrific 40 Days yard sign and a more-than-terrific 40 Days t-shirt.

3. Day one/ hour one. Wednesday, September 27, 7 to 8 a.m.

Be there for the first moments of the 40 Days for Life prayer vigil whether you are signed up for this hour or not. Be a part of the fellowship and prayer. Take photos, as I will. There should be some yard signs and T-shirts left over from the rally. AND, I will bring coffee and authentic Mexican burrito/tacos. I promise I will not purchase these at a convenience store. I serve real Italian for Second Sunday and real Mexican for 40 Days for Life.

4. Seven 40 Days for Life billboards on display.

This will broaden the community impact of 40 Days for Life.
The photo below is the billboard on the north side of Bosque Blvd, near the 38th street intersection.

Other billboards with the same image from Imprint Anything and Littrell outdoor Advertising are located at:
  1. Sanger Ave @ Neil
  2. 7400 Imperial
  3. New Road @ Robinson Drive
  4. E. Waco Drive E/O Clifton
  5. N. 18th @ Windsor
  6. Airbase Road @ TSTC gate

We get very fair pricing on the billboards. Still, the total cost will be well over $1000. Likewise, t-shirts will be over $1000 and yard signs over $1000. Pro-Life Waco needs your financial support to vigorously battle the Culture of Death in Central Texas and strive to remove an ugly scar from the City of Waco. In 2017, for your stewardship outside your church, I believe Pro-Life Waco merits inclusion in a significant way. You can donate online at www.prolifewaco.com or send to PLW, PO Box 7771, Waco, TX 76714

5. Pedestrian Overpass Outreach over Interstate 35, Saturday. Sept. 23, 10 a.m. to noon.

This is the day of the Baylor v OU football game. So, we should get a lot of out of the ordinary traffic. Just drive to the end of South 8th Street to join the Interstate 35 pedestrian overpass outreach. You don’t need to take in the whole two hours. If you have never joined this fun activity, try it for 30 minutes. Park near Panera Bread (1000 S. 8th Street). There is plenty of street parking available.

6. Pro-Life Booth at Heart of Texas Fair: Volunteers needed.

Doel Garcia leads this outreach. However, he needs your help and you will have a blast talking to children, moms, dads, and families. Just respond to this message if you have time from 5 to 10 p.m. on some evenings to help. The HOT Fair is October 5-14. Wow! We are busy. But what can be better that educating for and standing up for the little children Jesus welcomed to His knees.
