Lutheran University Holding Event With Planned Parenthood Where Women Brag About Their Abortions

A Christian university in Washington state will open its stage in March to women who believe aborting their unborn babies was a good thing.

The theater department at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington is sponsoring the pro-abortion event in partnership with the Planned Parenthood abortion chain, according to the Daily Caller.

The event, “Out of Silence: Abortion Stories from the 1 in 3 Campaign,” will promote the disproved statistic that one in three women will abort an unborn baby in her lifetime.

“From the halls of Congress to pulpits and court houses around the country, women’s personal stories about abortion have been silenced—until now,” the event page at Pacific Lutheran states.
However, this is not true, either. Women who regret aborting their unborn babies have been sharing their stories for decades through the Silent No More Awareness Campaign and other pro-life projects. The 1 in 3 Campaign does not welcome these women to share their stories, though. The purpose of these pro-abortion events is to normalize abortion through storytelling, and women who regret ending their unborn babies’ lives hinder this mission.

Here’s more from the report:

The “1 in 3 Campaign” is part of Planned Parenthood’s Advocates for Youth program, and describes itself as a grassroots movement to start a new conversation about abortion, according to its website.

“As we share our stories we begin to build a culture of compassion, empathy, and support for access to basic health care. It’s time for us to come out in support of each other and in support of access to legal and safe abortion care in our communities,” the website reads
Carly Stauffer, president of the Students for Life chapter at Pacific Lutheran, said she was disappointed to hear that a university that calls itself Christian is promoting abortion.
“It saddens me that abortion is being represented as something that is problematic not because it is unjust, morally evil, and ultimately oppressive to women, but because it simply isn’t talked about enough,” Stauffer said. “PLU’s middle name may be ‘Lutheran,’ but I sense the campus desires to divorce itself from traditional Christian values and pursue trendy social movements – like any typical American college campus.”
Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, told the Daily Caller that the event is “another example of the pseudo-theology employed by faux Christians to mask their ideological agenda that promotes discrimination, death and destruction.”

Pacific Lutheran is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, or ELCA, a liberal denomination whose pastors tend to support abortion.
