San Diego, CA - It was 1998. The largest abortion clinic in the San Diego area at that time was the Family Planning Associates abortion clinic in La Mesa, California.

Abortionist James Long worked for FPA conducting about 200 abortions each and every week at the high volume facility located on the second floor of a very large medical complex.

As a former sidewalk counselor at that facility, I often wondered what happened to the babies aborted there.

Militant Senate Abortion Extremists Block 5-month Limit

Americans United for Life Action Calls Senate Vote to Limit Abortion at 5 months of Pregnancy 

“A Win and a Loss as militant abortion extremists blocked protections for women and their unborn children”

WASHINGTON, D.C. (09-22-15) — “Despite the fact that the 54 to 42 vote today in the U.S. Senate looks like a victory, tragically without a veto proof margin, women and their unborn children will continue to face the dangers of late-term abortions at the hands of an abortion industry that clearly puts profit over people,” said Americans United for Life President CEO Dr. Charmaine Yoest. “This vote is a win and a loss as militant abortion extremists in the minority blocked protections for women and their unborn children whose more developed bodies can be sold for more money.”

She continued: “While we won the vote, women who will suffer the dangers of late-term abortion and infants who experience an excruciating death still lose as the minority of our elected officials failed to enact a commonsense limit on abortion at 5 months of pregnancy. Most people don’t know that as a result of the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe v. Wade, abortion policy in the United States is among the most extreme in the world. The United States is one of four nations in the world standing with North Korea, China and Canada allowing for abortion through all 9 months of pregnancy, for any reason, even sex selection, and sometimes with taxpayer subsidies.

“The extremists on this issue are Big Abortion and its political allies who are pushing abortion through all nine months, fighting health and safety standards that protect women’s lives and threatening a government shutdown (which they will blame on Republicans) to force funding to the scandal-ridden Planned Parenthood.”

Earlier in the day, Americans United for Life General Counsel Ovide Lamontagne joined U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) and other pro-life leaders at in advance of the Senate vote. He observed: “This is a vote with bi-partisan appeal. An overwhelming majority of Americans oppose late-term abortions. Recent polls reveal that 63% of all Americans—including 70% of women—support a limitation on abortion at 5 months of pregnancy.” Click here  to learn more about the morning event.

Americans United for Life Action also sent a letter to Capitol Hill urging a yes vote, AULA President and CEO Dr. Charmaine Yoest noted that “medical studies demonstrate that abortion poses significant physical and psychological health risks to women—and that the risk of these complications increases dramatically later in pregnancy. These risks include uterine perforation, uterine scarring, cervical perforation, infection, bleeding, hemorrhage, blood clots, incomplete abortion, pelvic inflammatory disease, metabolic disorder, free fluid in the abdomen, organ damage, psychological or emotional complications such as depression and anxiety, sleeping disorders, an increased risk of breast cancer, and even death.”

Planned Parenthood Nationwide Protests Set for Oct. 10

Columbus, September 21, 2015 – On Saturday, October 10 a second round of public protests of Planned Parenthood (PP) abortion clinics and facilities will take place all over the United States. The first round of protests took place on August 22 when over 78,000 people turned out at 354 sites throughout the United States and in six foreign countries.

On October 10, 2015, pro-lifers will once again hit the streets and sidewalks outside Planned Parenthood facilities in protest, with a goal of bringing our message to even more Planned Parenthood locations.

Once again, Created Equal,  Pro-Life Action League, and Citizens for a Pro-Life Society are the main sponsors.

Five Reasons Why I'm Proud of our Planned Parenthood Protests

The simultaneous protests at Planned Parenthood facilities throughout the nation -- protests which occurred in over 330 cities at the end of last month -- will continue in the months ahead. As one of the leaders helping to organize these protests, I can speak to the spirit and purpose of these events. That spirit and purpose is just as important to know as the existence of the event itself. Let me make five simple points.

First, yes, these are protests. In our day, many Christians shy away from the word 'protest,' but there is no reason to do so. To affirm good means to reject evil. To stand up for what is right means to protest what is wrong.

When people realize the atrocities going on in Planned Parenthood, such as the harvesting of body parts, and when they have the courage to view what an aborted baby actually looks like, a voice of protest arises from inside of them: "No, this is wrong; this must stop!"

At that point, every human being is at a crossroads: we either act on that voice of protest or we silence it.

These protests embody the voices of women who have in fact had abortions and have learned through bitter experience that abortion doesn't solve any problems.

To have organized, public protests is one way to choose the former option; to choose the latter and ignore the problem is to begin to deaden one's conscience.

U.S. House Passes Two Pro-Life Bills

Action Needed in the U.S. Senate

This past Friday, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to pass H.R. 3504, the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Act by a vote of 248-177, with one voting present Roll call vote 506 and H.R. 3134, the Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2015 by a vote of 241-187, with 1 voting present (Roll Call vote 505).

We received word that U.S. Senate is expected to vote as early as Tuesday, September 22nd on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (H.R. 36). This bill passed the House of Representatives previously on May 13.

We also understand that the U.S. Senate will vote on an amendment to defund Planned Parenthood some time in the near future as part of a Continuing Resolution needed to fund the federal government. This is the second time the U.S. Senate will be voting to Defund Planned Parenthood. On August 3, the U.S. Senate failed to garner the 60 votes needed to pass legislation to defund Planned Parenthood. Unfortunately, NJ's two U.S. Senators Menendez and Booker shamefully voted No.

However, we must let them know that we are not going to go away and we're not going to let them off the hook. Please take action needed below.

     

Urge New Jersey's U. S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker to vote yes on H.R. 36, the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and to vote yes to Defund Planned Parenthood. House votes to defund Planned Parenthood

The House voted Friday to block hundreds of Planned Parenthood clinics from getting federal funds for one year, a vote that was meant to deliver a strong rebuke to the country's largest abortion provider, and also help avert a government shutdown.

The measure passed 241-187 Friday morning with the support of just two Democrats, and three Republicans voted against it. It would halt roughly $500 million in federal funds, mostly through Medicaid and family planning dollars, to nearly 700 Planned Parenthood clinics around the country, unless the chain of women's health clinics agrees to stop offering the procedure.

What? First ever “Dawn to Dusk” pedestrian overpass outreach in the nation. 3-foot high banners will be displayed over I-35 as well as service roads. (Aborted baby images will not be used. See attached flyer.) We will engage over 100,000 travelers from Texas, the U.S.A, and the world. To promote overpass participation from beyond Waco, the event has been promoted through the Waco Tribune-Herald; with radio ads on 1230AM, KTEM, KBBW, and KBDE; and through social media. Gifts for participants include pro-life yard signs, wrist bands, booklets, and jewelry.

Where? Interstate 35 pedestrian overpass near Baylor. Adjacent to where South 8thStreet dead ends at I-35. Overpass also has access on the Baylor side of I-35

           

When? Dawn to dusk (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.).Tuesday, September 22.

Why? This unprecedented overpass outreach is Pro-Life Waco’s response to what is known on social media as #PPSellsBabyParts. A series of undercover videos have been released by the “Center for Medical Progress” beginning on July 14. The videos show Planned Parenthood top-level physicians and executives discussing (often in a cavalier manner) PP’s involvement in the market for tissue and organs of aborted babies. Video #10, released on September 14, shows that Planned Parenthood leadership was well aware that the “women’s health organization” could face a public relations nightmare if the news ever got out that they were involved in the fetal organ market. The videos shocked the moral sense of many Americans and raised serious questions about the possibility of Planned Parenthood criminality.

Pro-life Americans have been outraged by the Center for Medical Progress videos and are mobilized to challenge Planned Parenthood’s desecration of babies lost to abortion. In Washington, we have initiatives to defund Planned Parenthood. In the State of Texas investigations of Planned Parenthood are underway. Pro-Life Waco sees this overpass outreach its opportunity do its part in opposing Planned Parenthood’s heartless actions. Pro-life Waco was well known for its initiatives within the Waco community. We have delivered weekly demonstrations at Bank of America (Valley Mills Drive) in September to challenge their financial contributions to Planned Parenthood.
