Clinic Sidewalk Outreach Rescues a Dozen Babies in 3 Months

Baby saved outside Columbus Planned Parenthood!

from Mark Harrington, National Director
Created Equal

Columbus, OH – Nov 25, 2015 – What are you thankful for? As many assemble around turkey and pumpkin pie tomorrow, please join us in thanking God for twelve more babies rescued by Created Equal at Planned Parenthood in Columbus, OH—since September alone! Check out the adorable ultrasound picture of one such baby rescued recently.

Elizabeth Johnston, Director of Created Equal's Sidewalk Ministry, relays the story of this baby's rescue:
Wow! What a day! Praise God with me! This mom has chosen life! She had already paid for her abortion. Coach Dave Daubenmire (Created Equal Sidewalk Ministry team leader) called out to her, "We will adopt your baby!" She approached him and admitted she would rather adopt and gave Coach her phone number. My friend Joanne called her. The kids and I picked her up at her house, drove her and her beautiful daughter to the pro-life pregnancy center, and got her set up with a Christian adoption agency.
Click here to listen to Elizabeth share about the effort to rescue lives in Columbus on Activist Radio: The Mark Harrington Show.

Click here to watch another couple outside Planned Parenthood in Columbus share their ultrasound photos and declare, "We're pregnant and we're keeping it!"

Created Equal's Sidewalk Ministry was launched as a result of #ProtestPP, the historic national protests of Planned Parenthood we spearheaded along with Pro-Life Action League and Citizens for a Pro-Life Society. The mission: a consistent presence outside Planned Parenthood with men and women offering aid and counsel to those planning to kill their children.

In the few months since the launch, we've seen 12 children spared from the death of abortion at this single Planned Parenthood facility. That's an average of one per week! Planned Parenthood has even added "escorts" outside their building to try to stop our slowing down of their business.

The story above is not unique. It is truly one of a dozen recent stories of children rescued, parents receiving the truth in love, and Planned Parenthood losing victims.

The glory for these babies' lives belongs to God. Please join us in thanking Him. And consider joining us outside Planned Parenthood. To get involved, email Jami@CreatedEqual.org. You can be part of saving lives!

#COLORADOSPRINGSSHOOTING & SIDEWALK ADVOCACY

From Reverend Katherine Marple
KeepLifeLegal

STATEMENT:
“At this time, it is unclear if the shooter in Colorado Springs was targeting Planned Parenthood. It is abhorrent to us at KeepLifeLegal that anyone would use violence at any abortion facility for any reason. While there is violent death behind every door of every abortion facility, that does not justify Robert Lewis Dear’s violence. KeepLifeLegal is a continued advocate of Sidewalk Ministry & Advocacy. We are in continued prayer of this situation.”

Just last week, a sidewalk advocate’s life was threatened by an abortion worker. Dads who bring their unborn children to be aborted threaten to kill us all the time, not just now and then. Last year, a Pastor bringing his daughter for an abortion threatened all of us with a gun he said was in his car while the ‘guard’ did NOTHING. There are drive-by murder threats ALL THE TIME. Random people, and I mean RANDOM, will gun for praying sidewalk advocates with their cars. But what’s interesting is that this happens EVERY DAY on the sidewalk and the only people dying are the innocent unborn children. THAT is TERRORISM.

Another Birth Parent Pressures Surrogate Mom of Triplets to Have Abortion

Life News:  MICAIAH BILGER   NOV 27, 2015

Empowered by the story of Melissa Cook, a surrogate mother facing pressure to abort one of her triplets, another surrogate mother is seeking help for very similar circumstances.

The anonymous Southern California woman is a surrogate who is pregnant with triplets, according to the New York Post. She told the news outlet that a parent of the unborn children is pressuring her to abort at least one of them.

After reading about Cook’s situation in the news, a friend of the anonymous woman contacted the Center for Bioethics and Culture, a watchdog group for surrogacy exploitation, and asked for legal help to save the unborn triplets, the report states.

“This woman was asked to submit to an abortion. She’s asking for legal help,” Jennifer Lahl, director of the center, told the news outlet. “That’s why Melissa Cook’s story was so empowering. When one woman tells her story, it encourages other women to come forward. There’s strength in numbers.”

As LifeNews previously reported, surrogate mother Melissa Cook told The Sun that she is facing immense pressure to abort one of the triplets. The California woman is 17-weeks pregnant. She found out about the triplets at about eight or nine weeks, and the biological father has been pressuring her to abort one of them since then.

The babies were conceived using the father’s sperm and a 20-year-old donor’s eggs, according to the report. Cook’s contract with the biological father from Georgia says she would be paid $33,000 for the pregnancy, plus $6,000 for each additional child, the report states. By not aborting the third baby, the father’s lawyer warned Cook that she could lose all the money and have to pay to take care of the children herself.

Cook sent a response to the Georgia father, writing: “The doctor put in three healthy embryos. The chances were high they were all going to take. You knew I was 47 years old. If you knew you only wanted two babies, then why put in three embryos?”

Cook has four of her own children, including a set of triplets, according to the report. When her story was first reported, Cook appeared to be wavering under the biological father’s intense pressure.

“I have to reduce,” Cook said. “I’m scared. I don’t want to suffer.” But at another point in the interview, she said: “They are human beings. I bonded with these kids. This is just not right.”

Since Cook’s story was first published earlier this week, people have been volunteering free legal assistance and even adoption of the third triplet, according to the Post. Others are collecting donations to help her and the babies. The Center for Bioethics and Culture also is helping Cook fight for the lives of all of her unborn triplets.

Abortion Activist Threatens Student’s Life After Writing Pro-Life Column, Ohio State Ignores It

LIFE NEWS:  STEVEN ERTELT   NOV 25, 2015

Ohio State University is coming under heavy criticism today for ignoring a threat an abortion activist made against a pro-life student after she published an article exposing the high percentage of abortions on black babies.

Madison Gesiotto wrote an article that appeared in The Washington Times, titled “The number one killer of black Americans.”

“You won’t believe what the number one killer of black Americans is. It isn’t heart disease, it isn’t cancer, it isn’t homicide and it isn’t motor vehicle accidents,” Gesiotto wrote.

“In fact, the number one killer of black Americans is abortion. Despite a lack of reporting by California, New Hampshire and Maryland, a total of 730,322 abortions were reported to the CDC in 2011, the most recently published reporting year,” she explained. “405,994 of these reported abortions included cross-classified race/ethnicity data for 2011, of which 146,856 were reported to be black American abortions, equaling about 36 percent of the total number of abortions with reported race statistics.”

But the backlash from one abortion activist on campus was life-threatening, as the Times reports:

The threat arrived on Ms. Gesiotto’s Facebook page as part of a heated back-and-forth shortly after the appearance of her column, which cited figures by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showing that black women received 36 percent of reported abortions in 2011.

The Facebook message said, “The government cannot take action against you for your offensive and racist article. But your colleagues can.”

Ms. Gesiotto, 23, said she became “extremely nervous” after reading the post, not knowing whether the threat referred to physical harm. The message came from another OSU law school student, but not one she knew.

“What bothered me is that I don’t know who this person is, I don’t know what type of action they were talking about,” said Ms. Gesiotto. “I just wanted the school to make sure it wasn’t anything physically dangerous to me.”

But when Gesiotto set up a meeting with Ohio State University officials, they dismissed her concerns.

“This is my freedom of speech, but they kept going on and on about how, ‘This is a flawed article, it’s not a good legal piece, it’s not a good journalistic piece, either,'” Ms. Gesiotto recalled. “They asked me to explain to them why I would put that [line] in, what that means, and how I should have followed that up by saying other things to support these black women.”

A second-year law student who writes the Millennial Mindset column for The Washington Times online opinion pages, Ms. Gesiotto said she tried repeatedly to steer the conversation back to the threat made against her, but that the deans appeared to “blow it off.”

“I’m a very tough person. I very rarely get upset or sensitive about things,” said Ms. Gesiotto. “But I was crying in that meeting for about 30 minutes, I was so shocked. I’ve never been in a situation with people I respected and looked up to and felt so violated.”

Dean Alan C. Michaels released a statement to the newspaper saying Ohio State takes any threat against a student seriously and declined to divulge any more information. But their response was also quite bizzare:

The deans also urged her to remove from her online biography her position as a staff editor of the Ohio State Journal of Criminal Law, she said, saying it would confuse those who might think she was a faculty member and not a student.

Keep up with the latest pro-life news and information on Twitter.

They recommended that she participate in a “facilitated discussion” with students who disagreed with the op-ed. She refused.

The entire ordeal has created an atmosphere at Ohio State whereby the former Miss Ohio USA who competed in the 2014 Miss USA pageant is now hearing that she is dropping out or rumors that Ohio State is kicking her off campus — and the backlash from pro-abortion people on campus has created a difficult learning environment for her.

Ohio Right to Life told LifeNews in response that Ohio State University has botched the handling of the threats and failed to look out for Gesiotto.

“It is offensive and alarming that a public university would brush off a female student’s safety concerns just because she expressed pro-life views,” Ohio RTL president Mike Gonidakis told LifeNews. “This is yet another black eye for Ohio State as well as protecting female students and free speech. The terrible message the liberal faculty is sending to students and their parents is ugly. Tuition paying parents need to know that University officials apparently do not care about their children’s safety if they happen to have pro-life beliefs.”

“Ohio Right to Life is demanding a meeting with University President Michael Drake to ensure that Maddison is safe on campus and that she can freely express her pro-life beliefs without any fears of bullying and retaliation,” he added.

Missouri Down to One Abortion Clinic After Planned Parenthood Stops Abortions in Columbia

LIFE NEWS: MICAIAH BILGER, NOV 25, 2015

A Missouri Planned Parenthood stopped doing abortions Monday, leaving just one abortion clinic left in the whole state.

The move came after Dr. Colleen McNicholas, who did abortions at the Planned Parenthood clinic in Columbia, lost her “refer and follow” hospital admitting privileges at the University of Missouri Health Care, according to the Columbia Tribune. According to state law, the abortion clinic will lose its license to do abortions without the admitting privileges.

The university voted to stop offering admitting privileges to McNicholas in September, in response to a state investigation prompted by undercover videos by the Center for Medical Progress, which showed Planned Parenthood abortionists harvesting and selling aborted babies’ body parts. The investigation revealed a relationship between Planned Parenthood and the university.

SIGN THE PETITION! Congress Must De-Fund Planned Parenthood Immediately

Pro-lifers with 40 Days for Life celebrated Monday with an event outside the Planned Parenthood clinic, according to the newspaper. The group released balloons for each baby who was aborted there since July, the report states.

“We give all the honor and glory and victory to God,” said Kathy Forck of 40 Days for Life. “This is God’s victory.”

Abortion advocates are planning their own protest next Monday at the university, according to the local newspaper. The group wants to pressure interim Chancellor Hank Foley into reversing the September vote and extend the abortion doctor’s admitting privileges, Laura McQuade, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri, told the local newspaper.

McQuade said they will push Foley for an extension through February, which would give McNicholas time to re-apply for hospital admitting privileges or give Planned Parenthood time to hire another abortion doctor.

Urge Your Senators to Vote to Defund Planned Parenthood

David Christensen
Vice President for Government Affairs
Family Research Council

The Senate has a unique opportunity to defund Planned Parenthood by 80% and repeal key parts of ObamaCare with only 51 votes instead of the usual 60! The Senate is expected to bring forward a budget bill called a "reconciliation" bill which on budgetary matters that only requires 51 votes. There are 54 Republicans in the Senate. The Senate Parliamentarian has reportedly agreed that the House-passed provision blocking federal funds for abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood from Medicaid, Medicare, and other programs would comply with the strict Senate rules—called the Byrd Rule—for 51 votes on this bill. Senators must hear from you to support the provision blocking funding for Planned Parenthood and support for the bill. If Republicans vote no either because of the pro-life provision, or because the bill doesn't "do enough" on ObamaCare, this rare opportunity to pass a significant bill blocking funds for Planned Parenthood—which obtains over $400 million per year in Medicaid alone—will be missed.

The bill can cut a massive portion of your taxpayer dollars that fund Planned Parenthood and does serious damage to ObamaCare.

The House bill passed by an overwhelming majority by a vote of 240-189, with only 7 of 246 Republicans voting "No." This bill's ObamaCare provisions must also comply with the strict Senate budget rules to use the 51 vote threshold. ObamaCare provisions that are more policy than budget must pass with 60 votes, but the Senate already failed in August to achieve 60 votes to repeal all of ObamaCare. The Senate bill is expected to improve on the House passed bill which cuts employer mandate and the individual mandate fines and cuts spending from the "prevention fund" which is a government slush fund. Repealing these and other parts of ObamaCare would alleviate federal pressure on people who are forced to purchase health insurance which they may find objectionable, such as including coverage for elective abortion coverage. Repealing the employer mandate would remove federal pressure on employers who are mandated to pay for the HHS mandate contraceptives.

While the special rules on Reconciliation cannot be used to defund ALL federal funding for Planned Parenthood, it CAN be used to cut millions from their pocket book—roughly 80%.

We can't allow the desire to repeal all of ObamaCare to prevent conservatives from trying to gut key parts of ObamaCare, especially on this budget reconciliation bill which only requires 51 votes in the Senate.

Please urge your Senators to vote FOR the Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act; and ask them to support eliminating Planned Parenthood's funding and to repeal as much of ObamaCare as the budget rules allow.

Join the National Pro-Life Alliance at the March for Life on January 22, 2016

from Martin Fox, President
National Pro-Life Alliance

Would you like to join the National Pro-Life Alliance at this year's March for Life in Washington, D.C.? Then I've got some exciting news for you.

Thanks to the sacrificial generosity of a pro-life donor, I am excited to announce your NPLA is giving away travel vouchers of $500 to help five lucky winners and their parties to attend the 43rd March for Life on Friday, January 22nd, 2016.

If you'd like a chance to win, click on the button below to sign your entry form right away!

25,000 activists attended the first March for Life back in 1974.  Since then, it's grown exponentially to a regular participation of hundreds of thousands of activists, with young people coming out in droves.  If you've ever been to one, you know it's an inspiring sight.

But there is a mostly untold story at the annual March for Life. And that's the story of the hundreds of thousands of pro-life Americans who can't make it to Washington for the march because of the expense.  Although not there physically, these individuals still attend in spirit.

They hold prayer vigils for the folks participating in the march, they gather at local places of worship and they fast and pray as they tend to their daily tasks.

If you have been one of those who have attended from afar in the past -- or if you're a longtime marcher who is struggling to fund the cost of attending this year -- this sweepstakes could be your lucky break.

So click on the button above for your opportunity to win a travel voucher to join the National Pro-Life Alliance at this year's annual March for Life!

Here at the National Pro-Life Alliance, we work every day knowing that it is our supporters like you who make it possible for us to fight to end the slaughter of abortion in America.

That's why we're so grateful to our donor who has made possible this opportunity to help our supporters join us at the 2016 March for Life on Friday, January 22nd.

Patricia, the Planned Parenthood videos have created a groundswell of pro-life grassroots energy.

So it is more important than ever to show the Abortion Lobby's cronies in Congress that it is time to END abortion-on-demand in America.

43 years of abortion-on-demand made possible by Roe v. Wade is 43 years too many.

Your National Pro-Life Alliance is counting on our grassroots supporters from across America to stand with us at the March.

And this is the first time we've been able to help our supporters make the journey to our nation's capital thanks to a generous NPLA donor.

It is my sincere hope to meet you among the lucky winners at the March this year, as I will be there with the rest of the NPLA team.

To Disney and ABC: End the Abortion Propaganda

by Rebecca Downs
Live Action News

In the mid-season finale of ABC’s hit show “Scandal,” the show’s lead character, Olivia Pope, aborted the baby she conceived with the President. Not only was the scene lauded, but “Silent Night” —a song celebrating the birth of Jesus— played in the background.

The episode also featured gratuitous statements of support for Planned Parenthood from other characters, one who repeated the debunked lie that abortions account for only 3 percent of services at Planned Parenthood.

To add insult to injury, the episode was titled “Baby It’s Cold Outside.” Nothing says “Merry Christmas ” like the death of innocents.

Live Action has issued a petition demanding ABC and Disney to stop promoting abortion. The demand is simple, but crucial. Click on the picture below to sign the petition.

America’s Incoherent Attitude Toward Suicide

by Cullen Herout
Catholic Stand

Trying to make sense out of our country’s thoughts and feelings when it comes to suicide is like trying to decipher a map made up of coded symbols in a language we can’t understand. In some cases we encourage it. In some cases we rally against it. In some cases we protect against it. In some cases we think it should be legal. It is an incoherent mess of poor philosophy and even worse implications.

For starters, in September of this year we had National Suicide Prevention Week. Celebrated from September 7-13th, the week was highlighted by World Suicide Prevention Day, which is held on September 10th each year. People rally together to support those who have lost loved ones, raise awareness of those who might be at risk, and draw attention to resources available to those who might be contemplating suicide. The whole week is a great way to raise awareness of one of our country’s biggest epidemics, especially among those veterans who have served in our country’s military.

Another Pro-Choice Mantra

Meanwhile, as many as twenty states around the country are introducing bills to legalize euthanasia, or doctor-assisted suicide this year, with more to follow. Several states already allow this practice, and the “right to die” is quite literally replacing the “right to life” right before our very eyes. The movement is sweeping the nation and those who support doctor-assisted suicide continue to rally around the “choice” mantra, claiming that if a person wants to end his or her life, he or she should be able to. If it hasn’t already, this battle against the dignity of life is coming to a town near you.
It’s tough to make sense of why we would want to allow one person to help another person kill himself. One reason, I believe, is the transformation in our understanding of suffering. We have transformed suffering from being a means to something to being an end to be avoided. Suffering used to be seen as a road to virtue, a means to build endurance and character. In a society where virtue and endurance are wholesale disregarded, suffering becomes an end to be avoided. Why suffer when nothing good can come of it? This is what happens when the pursuit of happiness becomes more important than the pursuit of holiness. When suffering prohibits so-called happiness, death becomes the preferable option. Anything to avoid suffering becomes desirable. I’m not saying we should go out of our way to seek and embrace suffering, but to choose death over it is to deny the value that can be found in it.

In any case, there is a disconnect in our philosophy when it comes to suicide. It’s a tough disconnect to figure out. In some cases, we want to prevent our citizens from choosing suicide, and in some cases we encourage it. Sure, advocates will point to doctor-assisted suicide and say that those who choose the practice are mostly elderly folks, terminal patients, those who are suffering with awful physical infirmities. For the most part they might be right, at least for now. But is there any question that if we start allowing people to choose their own deaths, more and more people will claim to have a “right” to choose it?

The biggest issue with this disconnect is that we are trying to nominally separate the two categories of people tempted to suicide, and it cannot be done. We are trying to label those who are “eligible” for suicide, and those who are not. On one hand, we look at a 31-year-old drug-addicted male suffering immensely from depression and give him pamphlets for suicide hotlines, numbers for mental health counselors and treatment centers, and try to make sure he has all the help he needs to stay alive. On the other hand, we have a 78-year-old woman struggling with the pain of brain cancer, and she is given a prescription for life-ending drugs.

The end result is the encouragement of suicide across the board. There is no conceivable way to look at the 31-year-old and treat him differently than the 78-year-old. She has an unbearable amount of physical pain and wishes she could die. He has an unbearable amount of mental and emotional pain and wishes he could die. One of them is “eligible” for doctor-assisted suicide and one is not.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO FOR JUST ONE MORE DAY?

by Reverend Katherine Marple
KeepLifeLegal

The song says “It is well with my soul”. It is sung by a dying woman. She may have only days or hours to live because of cancer. She is a mother, a wife, a woman of God. And yet, she is dying. I wonder what she would do for one more day.

Maybe just one more surgery would be the cure. Or just one more chemo. Pray. And pray some more.

One more day. JUST ONE MORE DAY, imagine struggling for just one more day. Every day in America, the unborn struggle for just one more day.
