Ice Cream Shop Honors Planned Parenthood by Creating New Flavor, Donating Portion of Proceeds

An Oregon ice cream shop named "What's the Scoop?" decided to help Planned Parenthood raise money with an exclusive "Rose City Revolution" flavor: a blend of Oregon-grown organic rose petals, local honey, and Madagascar, Tahitian, Mexican and Indonesian vanillas.
Planned Parenthood Advocates of Oregon announced that the ice cream shop would be creating the special flavor, and donating 10% of sales, on its Facebook page.
After a Lifenews blog took note of Planned Parenthood's advertisement, What's the Scoop? began to receive an unexpected backlash.
Store owner Jodie Ostrovsky told Eater blog that, "We're still wrapping our minds around the reactions. It was the second fundraiser we'd done with Planned Parenthood, the first one went off without any reactions or comments."
But Ostrovsky isn't apologizing. "Planned Parenthood is an amazing organization that does so much to help women have access to affordable healthcare. The fact that some people only focus on what is such an infinitesimal part of the service they provide is confusing to me."
