American Heritage Girls in Michigan earn a Pro-Life Patch by participating in events that support the pro-life movement.
One such event is an official Prayer Hour at a local abortion clinic.
The AHG Troops schedule a Prayer Hour on a Sunday when the clinic isn’t
open, during the 40 Days for Life Campaign. Additionally, girls and
their families participate in a second 40 Days for Life event during the
winter months by praying in a chapel or at an outdoor stations of the
cross. This past year the Michigan Troops attended a Life Chain event
wearing their AHG Uniforms.
“We seem to have spread the good news about supporting 40 Days for Life,” said Johanne Newell, MI0138 Troop Leader.
By participating in these events, girls are eligible to earn a local
pro-life patch worn on the back of their vest or sash. The first time a
girl participates, she earns the patch and a year rocker. In subsequent
years, she receives a year rocker for her participation.
“It’s a badge of honor for our girls,” says Debbie DeSantis, MI0138 Troop Coordinator.
