ABORTION INDUSTRY ON VERGE OF 'IMPLOSION'

WND EXCLUSIVE

The “implosion” in America’s abortion industry is continuing, and the only thing that prevents a complete collapse is a series of court injunctions that are preventing various state safety laws from being enforced, according to a new survey of the situation.

“In all, 73 abortion facilities shut down for all or part of the year. The total number of all remaining abortion clinics in the U.S. is currently 739. Surgical abortion facilities account for 551 of that total while the number of medication-only abortion facilities stands at 188,” said the report from Operation Rescue. “Out of 60 surgical abortion clinic closures, 47 were permanent. This represents a 23 percent decline in surgical abortion facilities over the past five years.

“The only things that are preventing total collapse are court injunctions that are blocking several state abortion safety laws from being enforced,” the report said.

The report said 13 surgical facilities were closed, but then allowed to reopen “primarily due to court action that enjoined abortion safety laws that had shut down the substandard facilities.”

Record Low Number of Abortions in Utah Illustrates Impact of Pro-life Legislation

By Dave Andrusko
National Right to Life News Today

Utah Department of Health’s Maternal and Infant Health Program reported that 2,893 women had abortions last year–only 4.6 abortions in every 1,000 women. While generally a confirmation of longstanding trends, the results also raise some intriguing questions. The best news is the straightforward fact that in 2013 the fewest number of women in Utah had abortions than at any time since 1977. These encouraging results came about even though the number of women in their childbearing years has doubled in the intervening 36 years.

Among other pro-life provisions on the books, in 2012 Utah was the first state in the nation to enact a 72-hour period of reflection. That three-day period does not begin until the mother has a face to face meeting with an “abortion provider.”

Operation Rescue’s Top Ten Successes of 2014 Counted Down

By Cheryl Sullenger

Wichita, Kansas – Working from our national headquarters located in a former abortion clinic that we bought and closed in 2006, Operation Rescue’s efforts in 2014 have successfully advanced the pro-life cause on a number of fronts.

Our plan of researching, documenting, and exposing abortion abuses then filing complaints and demanding enforcement, has seen big pay-offs during 2014 in the form of criminal charges against abortionists, disciplinary action against others, and closed abortion clinics.

Below, we continue our annual custom of posting our Top Ten Successes for 2014. Some of them may even surprise you!

Pro-lifers Working to Make Nigeria a ‘Safe Place’ for the Preborn

by Christina Martin
Live Action News

Save the Unborn Babies Pro-Life Initiative (STUB) is an organization founded by Nigerians deeply troubled by the rampant abortions taking place in their nation. Abortion is illegal in Nigeria except for cases where the mother’s life is at risk. The law applies a sentence of up to 14 years’ imprisonment on individuals who conduct an illegal abortion. However, Kelechi Anyaghara, co-founder of STUB, notes that abortion has became a norm in Nigeria, and those who perform them illegally aren’t prosecuted.

In December of 2012, Anyaghara surveyed Nigerian women on reasons why they chose abortion. Some of the reasons stated were a lack of knowledge on when life begins, fear of the social stigma associated with raising a child out of wedlock, risk of unemployment, poverty, interruptions to education, and promiscuity without knowledge of the child’s father. Since the government is lax on enforcing the law against illegal abortions, society accepts them, and the numbers increase. The Alan Guttmacher Institute reports that Nigerian women have approximately 610,000 abortions yearly, with 60 percent performed by non-physician providers. The Guttmacher report on abortion also states:

Although Nigerian law prohibits abortion except to save a woman’s life, the country’s abortion rate is higher than most Western European countries and similar to that of the United States where abortion is legal.

In Feb 2013, STUB was created by a team of leaders with the goal of enlightening Nigerians on the humanity of the preborn child and reducing abortions. STUB members held a 40 Days for Life prayercampaign that same year, which led to the saving of nine babies from abortion. Anyaghara told She World Mag that today, those nine mothers are very thankful that they chose life.

Are you coming to the March?‏

From Martin Fox, President
National Pro-Life Alliance

On January 22nd 1973 the Supreme Court handed down abortion-on-demand with their infamous decision on Roe v. Wade.

Every year since then, in what has become known as the "March for Life" pro-lifers gather at our nation's capitol to memorialize that decision and protest the devastating aftermath.

The very first March had 25,000 activists in attendance. Since then it has grown exponentially, to a regular participation of hundreds of thousands of activists, with young people coming out in droves. If you've ever been to one, you know it's an inspiring sight.

And there is a mostly untold story of many hundreds of thousands of concerned Americans, who can't come to Washington each year for the march, because of work, family or other duties.  But they pray in vigils to send off the marchers, they gather at places of worship, they fast and pray as they tend to their daily tasks, schoolchildren at their desks, and much more. No one but God knows just how many people are part of the March without being there. But it is a vast number, I am convinced.

Which is why I'm inviting you to join the National Pro-Life Alliance staff, myself, our volunteers and a host of other pro-lifers at this year's March for Life. Click here to let me know that you're coming.

This coming March for Life (on January 22, 2015) will be particularly significant for a couple of reasons.

First, it will be the 42nd anniversary since the Supreme Court legalized abortion-on-demand.

Second, this March will also have the most pro-abortion president in History sitting in the White House.

The past six years has made his agenda very clear -- he has already given the abortion lobby free reign of the White House and our taxpayer dollars.  Barack Obama has made it clear that he will do everything in his power to advance abortion even further.

You and I must make sure the politicians know that not only are the eyes of the American people on them, but also that we will not tolerate any move to support the president's abortion agenda.  Which is why I am inviting you to join me and my staff at the March for Life this year.

It would be an honor to personally meet you and the other members who have made all of the progress we've made together possible. This year the March will be held on Thursday, January 22nd on the Mall. More details of where your National Pro-Life Alliance will be meeting will be forthcoming, so save the date.

We will be doing more than just marching, however. We will also be collecting petitions to add support for the Life at Conception Act. Which is why I pray that if you are able that you'll join us. A Life at Conception Act would legislatively overturn Roe v. Wade and ultimately put an end to abortion-on-demand.

Still Vanishing: 73 Abortion Facilities Shut Down in 2014 According to New Report

By Cheryl Sullenger
Operation Rescue

Washington, DC - A new survey conducted by Operation Rescue of all abortion facilities in the United States has confirmed that the abortion clinic closure trend continued strongly in 2014.

Operation Rescue is the only pro-life organization that maintains a listing of abortion facilities and tracks clinic closures and its extensive research has provided the most accurate accounting of abortion facilities known to exist.

"We are continuing to witness the implosion of the abortion cartel in America," said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. "The only things that are preventing total collapse are court injunctions that are blocking several state abortion safety laws from being enforced. Once those laws clear the courts, we expect to see even more dangerous abortion facilities close. This is great news for women and babies because when abortion clinics close, lives are saved."

In all, 73 abortion facilities shut down for all or part of the year. The total number of all remaining abortion clinics in the US is currently 739. Of those 551 are surgical facilities and 188 supply medication abortions only.

These numbers represent a net decrease in abortion facilities in America, continuing a trend that has been ongoing for over two decades. In all 75% of abortion clinics have closed since 1991.

Notable abortion clinic closures in 2014 include:

Outpatient Services for Women, Oklahoma City, OK: This surgical clinic shut down after the arrest on December 9 of clinic owner and operator Naresh Patel on charges of fraud and racketeering after Operation Rescue filed complaints. Patel had been caught selling abortion pills to women who were not pregnant.

All Women's Health, Chicago, IL: Clinic owner, abortionist Mandy Gittler, closed this facility after local activists protested there over the death of Tonya Reaves, which was killed by Gittler in 2012 at a Chicago Planned Parenthood clinic.

Aid for Women, Kansas City, MO: Operation Rescue discovered evidence of multiple abortion abuses and lodged complaints. This facility was best known for suing in court for the right to stop reporting child sex abuse. Under pressure from the medical board and struggling for business, Aid for Women, finally shut down.

RELEASED TORTURE REPORT THE WORLD MISSED

by Kurt Kondrich
Renew America

There has been much media coverage and international uproar over the release of the CIA "Torture Report," and many policymakers have expressed a high level of outrage over the tactics used to interrogate suspected terror detainees. This "torture" story occupied the headlines for several days, and the highly visible debate on all news networks will continue for an extended period.

In 2011 the state of Pennsylvania released a "torture report" that received very little coverage from the national and world press, and the details were by all standards horrific. Section 1 of this Grand Jury Report against the perpetrator Kermit Gosnell states "This case is about a doctor who killed babies and endangered women. What we mean is that he regularly and illegally delivered live, viable, babies in the third trimester of pregnancy – and then murdered these newborns by severing their spinal cords with scissors." The Grand Jury "Torture Report" continues, "Gosnell had a simple solution for the unwanted babies he delivered: he killed them." Does anyone remember this "Torture Report" being broadcasted across media airwaves? Estimates are that 100's of live birth children were tortured and murdered in this sadistic fashion, and vulnerable women suffered terrible injuries, trauma and even death.

Illinois Abortions Fall to Lowest Number Since 1974

by Lauren Enriquez
Live Action News

The Illinois abortion rate has fallen to its lowest number in 40 years, a new report reveals. The 2013 Illinois Abortion Statistics, issued by the Illinois Department of Public Health, reported that the abortion rate has dropped by 5.7 percent. This decline represents nearly 2,500 babies who saw life instead of abortion last year. The abortion rate decreased in every age group except for those 45 years of age and above.

There was a very dramatic abortion decline among minors – 20 percent fewer young mothers choose abortion from September to December. Illinois Right to Life credits the decline to the implementation of a new parental involvement law:

Remembering the Holy Innocents

DRAWING NEAR TO CHRIST

By: Eric Metaxas
BreakPoint

The gifts are packed away; the kitchen’s finally cleaned up. Maybe you’re relieved Christmas is over. But is it?

We Americans really outdo ourselves celebrating Christmas, often starting the day after Thanksgiving and sometimes before. We not only “out do,” we often overdo, glutting ourselves to the point where getting past Christmas becomes a relief.

With all the hubbub and celebrating, one aspect of this holiday that often gets lost is the season of Christmas, which begins (not ends) on Christmas Day and runs for twelve days until January 5. This season is usually only observed among liturgical churches, but it contains some powerful spiritual reminders that the rest of us might want to recover.

One of these is the Feast of the Holy Innocents, traditionally celebrated on December 28. Starting in the fifth century, the church set aside this day to remember the babes of Bethlehem slaughtered by King Herod.

As you recall, Herod was jealous of the newborn King and asked the traveling Magi to report back when they found him. When he finally realized that the Wise Men were not returning, Herod flew into a rage and had all the boys two years and under in Bethlehem killed, fulfilling the prophecy of Jeremiah: “A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping and loud lamentation, Rachel weeping for her children; she refused to be comforted, because they are no more.”

Loud weeping and lamentation over the murder of innocent children doesn’t exactly fit the “peace on earth, goodwill toward men” narrative we prefer to highlight. But like it or not, it’s as much a part of Christmas as singing angels, wondering shepherds and a rough manger filled with hay.

Perhaps we can be forgiven, given what’s going on in our own world today. Haven’t we had enough of this lately, with students being gunned down in Sandy Hook and children beheaded by ISIS terrorists? We also struggle with the knowledge that millions of young souls are trafficked for sex and labor each year, and we must face the fact that more than 50 million babies have been killed in the womb in America since 1973.

Yet these tragedies are precisely why it’s worth remembering those martyred children in Bethlehem so long ago. The message of Christmas rings true each year precisely because of all the sin, death and darkness we see around us. Christ came into a world beset by sin and enslaved to death. On the cross, he became intimately sensitized to each bloody, brutal sin we ever committed and will commit. The innocent blood shed at Christmas prefigured Jesus’ innocent blood shed on the cross as the fulfillment of His rescue mission on earth.

All life matters: Jahi McMath’s journey

Jahi McMath is ALIVE.

By Michelle Malkin
Creators Syndicate

The very first column I filed in 2014 exposed the plight of a beautiful young girl, the same age as my daughter, whom medical experts declared “brain dead” after a routine tonsillectomy gone wrong. Are you ready for the rest of the story?

Doctors told Jahi’s mom, Nailah Winkfield, that her child’s organs would “shut down” and her brain would “liquefy” if kept on life support. Hostile hospital administrators in Oakland moved to pull the plug on Jahi. Medical officials callously referred to Jahi as “dead, dead, dead” and dismissed the child as a “body.” Smug critics mocked and hounded the family to give up and let go. Jahi’s life, they concluded, was worthless.

But the experts and naysayers were wrong.

As Winkfield recently described in an open letter to supporters, “Jahi is physically stable. All of her organs are fully functional [and] her skin is flawless.” After inspecting her latest medical records, two respected neurologists testified in sworn declarations that she is not brain dead. Video released by her family shows her moving her arm and foot on command. A recent MRIshowed severe brain damage, “but it also shows brain structure and blood flow,” Winkfield noted.

“I was told previously that it would be liquefied or have holes in it because it had been without blood flow and oxygen for 9 months,” she recounted. “That is not the case with my daughter. Every person is different and every person heals differently.”

One year after callous and overconfident members of the medical and media establishments wrote Jahi’s life off, the now 14-year-old girl is surrounded by the love and care of her mom, dedicated medical professionals, and vigilant advocates for life.

Judge says Abortion Makes Incest Acceptable

by Nancy Flanders
Live Action News

It stands to reason that if abortion is viewed as morally and legally correct, other immoral acts will become socially acceptable as well. Now, according to a judge in Australia, incest is one of those acts.

During the trial of a brother charged with raping his younger sister, Judge Garry Neilson said that incest may no longer be morally unacceptable because the only reason it is criminal is due to the potential for abnormalities in any conceived children. Neilson said that thanks to contraception and abortion, there is no longer that risk.

The man on trial had raped his sister beginning when she was as young as 10 or 11 and pleaded guilty to that. However, he pleaded not guilty to the charges against him for the incest that occurred after the sister turned 18.

“A jury might find nothing untoward in the advance of a brother towards his sister once she had sexually matured, had sexual relationships with other men and was now ‘available’, not having [a] sexual partner,” the judge said. “If this was the 1950s and you had a jury of 12 men there, which is what you’d invariably have, they would say it’s unnatural for a man to be interested in another man or a man being interested in a boy. Those things have gone.”

Pro-abortion Reverend Calls Pro-lifers “Wolves” and “False Prophets” in Christmas Greeting

by Susan Michelle
Live Action News

The Reverend Harry Knox insists that pro-lifers are the wolves in sheep’s clothing Jesus warned about, and that we bear false witness.

The not very reverent Rev. Knox heads up the largest faith-based pro-abortion organization in the nation, the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (RCRC). Churches like the United Methodists, Evangelical Lutheran, Presbyterian USA, and Episcopals, as well as a host of more well-known liberal churches, are the composite of this campaign for death in the name of the One who came to bring us life. The RCRC is a shame to the reality of Christianity as it manipulates the truth of the faith.

Why Predators Love Planned Parenthood

by Cynthia Millen
Catholic Stand

While a recent Planned Parenthood study notes that the highest rate of unintended pregnancies occurs between young teen girls and adult males at least six years older, the organization is only concerned that these teens have unfettered access to contraceptives and abortions, without parental notification. Where is their concern for the harm suffered by these girls who, by their own admission, were coaxed “involuntarily” to have sex, and who, as studies have proven, suffer much higher rates of STD’s, cervical cancer, and infertility?
The Guttmacher Testimony

In 1994, an Alan Guttmacher Institute study entitled “Sex and America’s Teenagers” indicated that 6 out of 10 girls who had sexual intercourse by the age of 15 had partners who were at least six years older, and had pregnancy rates three times that of other girls. Two years later, the Urban Institute cited a study in which “three quarters of females who had sexual intercourse before age 14 reported having had sex involuntarily” (“The Fathers of Teen Mothers”, Washington Times, April 9, 1996).

More recently, a 2006 study published by the same Guttmacher Institute supported those earlier studies, and also indicated that “one in four first sexual relationships between females aged 16 and younger, and partners five or more years older were classified as nonvoluntary.” The study also reiterated the earlier findings that young teens who have sexual partners at least four years older have a much higher pregnancy rates — three times greater — primarily because “female teenagers fear more negative reactions from older partners if they bring up using a condom.” (Manlove, J., Terry-Humen, E., and Ikramullah E. [2006], Young Teenagers and Older Sexual Partners: Correlates and Consequences for Males and Females).

Furthermore, in a 2008 Guttmacher study, it was found that teens who had sex with a partner four or more years older “were [two times] more likely to acquire an STD as young adults.” (Ryan, S., Franzetta, K., Manlove, J., and Schelar, E. [March 2008], Older Sexual Partners During Adolescence: Links to Reproductive Health Outcomes in Young Adulthood) Those same teens also suffered much higher rates of pelvic inflammatory disease, pregnancy complications, infertility, and cervical cancer. (Ibid.)

As common sense would dictate, and based upon all of the adverse physical and psychological results of early teenage sexual activity with older partners, the authors of the Guttmacher studies strongly argued for sexual abstinence for these teens.

Merry Christmas from Voices for the Unborn

 Jesus
The reason we celebrate Christmas.
"Glory to God in the highest, and
on earth peace, good will toward men."
           Luke 2:14

Wishing you good tidings of great joy!
May you have a blessed Christmas.

Father Frank's Christmas Message

From Father Frank Pavone, National Director
Priests for Life

There was no room for them in the inn. This should make us wonder, because the birth of Christ was foreseen and planned by God from all eternity. Hundreds of years before it happened, the prophets announced he would be born of a virgin (Is. 7:14) and that Bethlehem would be his birthplace (Micah 5:2). Many other details of his life and death were also foretold. How, then, could God have forgotten to make room for his only Son? Moreover, the child born at Christmas owns the inn, and Bethlehem, and the world, and the whole universe.

Obviously, God did this on purpose. There was no room in the inn, because this demonstrates that the child comes as a Savior, to reconcile a world that is at enmity with God and has rejected him. The lack of room in the inn symbolizes the lack of room we make for him in our hearts. Today he does not seek an inn; he seeks room in our own hearts and lives.

To welcome the Divine Child today is to welcome all that he will do and teach. We welcome the one who will preach the Sermon on the Mount, instruct us by parables, and establish his Church. In welcoming the baby in the manger, we welcome the Lord at the table giving the Eucharist, and we welcome the Lamb on the cross.

We welcome all he welcomes, and are to make room for all he loves, especially the most unwanted, marginalized, burdensome, or inconvenient. If we welcome the baby Jesus, we welcome every baby and we welcome his teaching that every life is sacred, and we live accordingly.

Unto us a Child is born‏

A Christmas Message from Americans United for Life

From Charmaine Yoest, Ph.D., President & CEO
Americans United for Life

Christmas is a time when, together with millions of people around, we pause to reflect on the power of one life. More than any other holiday, Christmas teaches us the value of life. Part of the beauty of the Christmas story is the underlying humility – God sent His son to be born in a manger. He could have come as a conquering king, with all the trappings. But instead God chose to teach us that one life – no matter how humble the beginnings – can change the world.

Isaiah says something profound in predicting the impact of this one life unto US a child is born. His words reflect a truth that while a child may come into a family by marriage, by birth or by adoption, a child is a gift to us all, as the ripple effect of a life well lived changes all who are touched by him or her.

In preparing for Christmas, we probably all make lists as we consider and plan for giving gifts to the people we love. My son James has done some of the work for me and made his own list that runs a full page of his own wish list! It made me smile to see his anticipation. His perspective on Christmas gifts, of course, is different than mine. When we are children we are usually still focused on getting. As we get older those lists start to take on the significance of being a chronicle, an inventory of those who are integral to our very existence—those who bring meaning to our days; who laugh with us, and share our sorrows.

Our Christmas lists are not really about stuff to buy, but people to honor. The list is Life. The list is people we love.

Do you ever wonder who we are missing?

Since Roe v. Wade became law in 1973, more than 57 million of our children are gone. They are a lost generation of friends, teachers, doctors, neighbors, co-workers, inventors, musicians, spouses, family and fellow travelers.

My life would not have been the same without the wonderful memories of days spent enjoying the simple pleasures of just being together with my family and friends. My hope is that in the New Year, we at Americans United for Life, together with you, will be able to work to ensure that more people find the courage and support to take a chance on a wonderful life.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

And from AUL, we wish you a very happy New Year.

Americans United for Life (AUL) is the legal architect of the pro-life movement. We are accumulating victories, building momentum, and advancing a culture of life in America. Our vision is a nation in which everyone is welcomed in life and protected in law. The first national pro-life organization in America, AUL has been committed to defending human life since 1971.

SIDEWALK CHRONICLES: THE LAST MINUTE CHRISTMAS ERRAND

by Reverend Katherine Marple
KeepLifeLegal

THAT LAST MINUTE ERRAND….the one thing left to do, the one thing to find time for: THE CHRISTMAS ABORTION.

Sound too incredible to be true? Think again. People climb all over each other to get to that one gift AND still make time to kill an unwanted, unplanned, innocent baby. At Christmastime.

And in case you wondered, we see this every Christmas on the sidewalk; women all over the country are hurrying to get their ‘Christmas’ abortion, that last minute detail taken care of before the holiday. And just now I saw an update from another state that says a “local Sheriff has brought a young lady here threatening bodily harm and arrest”…for a Christmas abortion.

Pro-abortionists See 2014 as “A Terrible Year for Reproductive Rights"

By Dave Andrusko
National Right to Life News Today

Let’s take a few minutes to see why pro-abortion militant Armanda Marcotte believes “It’s Been a Terrible Year for Reproductive Rights.”

But we’re going to take her conclusion first because it’s the kind of question-begging argument that pro-abortionists specialize in. And then we will end where Marcotte began.

Pro-lifers and those who have no particular stake in the abortion issue have passed a great number of laws going back to 2011 that require that abortion clinics upgrade their physical plant (and therefore the safety of women); that they use the FDA recommended protocol for chemical abortions; that abortionists have admitting privileges at a local hospital so when there are the inevitable complications they can go with the woman to the hospital—to name just three.

What's in Her Tetanus Shot?

As women across Kenya reject their “help,” population controllers have sunk to new lows:
Mass sterilizations of unsuspecting women, through a common immunization?

From Steven W. Mosher, President
Population Research Institute

Recently we’ve heard from Catholic bishops in Kenya, where many women refuse to accept the birth control being pushed on them by population controllers.

These women want what God wants for them: More babies.

But in a barbaric display of contempt for Church teachings and for women and babies, population controllers in Kenya are seemingly refusing to take “no” for an answer. Kenya’s Catholic bishops believe that population control groups are sterilizing women without their knowledge or consent.

The bishops fear that “health workers” in Kenya are lacing legitimate medication (a tetanus vaccine) with beta-hCG, an abortifacient proven to sterilize women and kill unborn babies. And the Kenyan government simply looks the other way. (Photo above is a stock photo to protect these women's privacy.)

At the urging of Kenya’s bishops, the Population Research Institute (PRI) is dispatching one of the world’s leading epidemiologists and his aides to Kenya, to investigate this horrific crime.

But I need your continued help to end this and other crimes against women and babies by continuing to support PRI with a tax-deductible year-end gift today.

When PRI proves the Kenyan bishops right, and our research findings are made public, the world will be shocked and outraged.

And you will have been one of the faithful who helped reveal the truth through your continued support of PRI.

But without your ongoing assistance, we will be spread thin to protect the rights of women and babies in Kenya and around the world.

As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, please send a gift of any size in Jesus’s name today.

Note: When the Nazis sterilized Jews and others in Europe, historians called it the Holocaust. When officials sterilized mentally disabled people and minorities in the U.S., Hollywood called for the screen rights. But when population controllers sterilize women in Kenya against their will and without their knowledge, they call it “health care.”

If you haven’t already, please help PRI continue its work to educate and advocate  to end this and other despicable practices in the name of population control. Thank you, and God bless you and your family this Christmas, and always.

The pro-life Population Research Institute is dedicated to ending human rights abuses committed in the name of "family planning," and to ending counter-productive social and economic paradigms premised on the myth of "overpopulation." Find us at pop.org.

Values, Acts of Torture, and Obama

by Judie Brown, President
American Life League

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, torture is defined as “the act of causing severe physical pain as a form of punishment or as a way to force someone to do or say something.”

On this subject as it applies to the U.S. intelligence actions and alleged terrorists captured and interrogated, the Obama administration has said publicly that tactics such as waterboarding and other forms of “torture” are “brutal, wrong, and counterproductive.” The administration has been outspoken on this topic, including the release of the controversial CIA report, for Obama believes that enhanced interrogation tactics are “contrary to our values.”

Personally I find Obama’s statements on this subject dubious at best, hypocritical at worst.

We know, for example, that the Obama administration takes nothing short of extremist positions when it comes to torturing/killing preborn babies or threatening the health and welfare of vulnerable Americans. We know Obama turns a blind eye to such atrocities.

So is it any wonder that one is left speculating which set of values Obama is actually talking about?

Think about these facts.

We are learning that advance directives may be hazardous to your health. An advance directive is a document that many people sign in order to have a plan in place in the event they become ill and are unable to speak for themselves. But one expert, Dr. Ferdinando Mirachi, said in an interview that when patients cannot speak for themselves, clinicians may forgo treatment—even for a treatable condition—when an advance directive and DNR order is present.

BREAKING: Oklahoma Abortionist Charged with Racketeering, Faces 10 Years in Prison‏

By Cheryl Sullenger
Operation Rescue

Oklahoma City, OK - An Oklahoma abortionist who was arrested last week for prescribing abortion pills to women who were not pregnant has drawn another serious criminal count.

Thursday, the Oklahoma Attorney General's office charged Naresh Patel, 62, with racketeering, a felony punishable by at least 10 years in jail.

The charges were all in relation to his Outpatient for Women abortion business, located in Oklahoma City.

Continue reading this breaking story AND learn about his most recent law suit that was filed in the past few days.

Operation Rescue is one of the leading pro-life Christian activist organizations in the nation and has become a strong voice for the pro-life movement in America.Operation Rescue is now headquartered in a former abortion clinic that it bought and closed in 2006. Powerful Abortion Group Lashes Out at CLI!‏

Chuck Donovan
President, Charlotte Lozier Institute

Is the Guttmacher Institute, Planned Parenthood’s former research arm, feeling threatened by SBA List’s research arm, the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI)?

It looks like it. They published a report lashing out at research from CLI that helps SBA List and other pro-life groups defend babies from the moment of conception.

Unable to disprove CLI’s research, Guttmacher accuses us of exposing the drugs and devices that cause abortions in the earliest stages of pregnancy because it is “politically convenient.”

Patricia, pro-life lawmakers DO use CLI’s research to defend life, but CLI seeks the truth through science and statistics whether “politically convenient” or not. And as you know, it’s usually not convenient to proclaim the truth of the sanctity of Life in the midst of the culture of death.

For 47 years the Guttmacher Institute has monopolized abortion research, pushing an extreme population control agenda. Their research has been key to public policy that has aggressively expanded abortion-on-demand in America.

America needs the pro-life counterpart to the Guttmacher Institute. Our unborn babies and their moms need a research group like CLI.

You will be David against Goliath if you join the cause to support a pro-life research group for America’s unborn babies and moms, the Charlotte Lozier Institute. The Guttmacher Institute has a $17 million annual budget, while we’re struggling to raise just $40,000 online for the matching grant opportunity.

But you and CLI, like David, have truth on your side and are fighting for God’s children – so I know we’ll reach our goal of $40,000 to be automatically DOUBLED to fund CLI’s 2015 pro-life research projects.

You have just 12 days for your 100% tax-deductible donation to count for this year!

Donate Now: Help CLI be the pro-life answer to powerful pro-abortion research group the Guttmacher Institute. Your gift will be automatically DOUBLED!

Christmas: Season of Life

By Father Frank Pavone, National Director
Priests for Life

St. Augustine said of Christmas, "God became man so that man might become God."

Christmas is about a wondrous exchange of natures: God takes on himself our frail humanity, though without its sin, and we become partakers of the very nature of God (see 2 Peter 1:4). The joy of Christmas is not just that a child is born, but that a whole new humanity is born. This new humanity is not disconnected from the old, but is radically renewed and redeemed. Just as in Adam, all die, so in Christ shall all be made alive (see Romans 5:12-19).

Christmas, then, is about the destiny of the human person. In the Book of Revelation, we read this promise of the Risen Christ to His faithful disciples: "I will give the victor the right to sit with me on my throne" (Rev. 3:21). Thrones, at the time of the New Testament, characteristically allowed more than one person to sit on them. In heaven, we will not only see God's throne, or gather around God's throne; rather, you and I have a place on the very throne of God!

Now some want to give Christmas a totally "this-worldly" meaning: kindness, goodness, the importance of family, joy, and giving. These are all natural values and have meaning for the Christian. But the Christmas message goes far beyond these good things, and talks about where we are ultimately going, and what kind of destiny awaits us beyond the grave. Moreover, the Faith teaches that this destiny begins even now. "He who believes has eternal life" (John 6:47).

Christmas, then, is about the Gospel of Life. It is about the hope of eternal life offered through the birth of a child, and through our birth into His life by our faith. Christmas, then, illumines the meaning and value of every human person. In the light of the manger, we see every human person as one who is called to share the Divine Nature, as one called to sit with Christ on His throne!

Is it possible for one to accept the Christmas message, and then to turn the other way when human life is despised and destroyed? Can the Christian, who declares that the human person is called to the very heights of heaven, stand idly by when those same human beings are thrown in the garbage by abortion, or disposed of by euthanasia?

The hymn "O Holy Night" sums up this lesson in the verse which sings, "Truly He taught us to love one another; His law is love, and His Gospel is peace. Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother, and in His name, all oppression shall cease."

That's how I'm celebrating Christmas this year: a complete re-dedication to ending abortion, the worst form of oppression of my brothers and sisters. I hope that's how you celebrate it too. A child is born, and His birth immerses us in the defense and celebration of life!

Priests for Life has come to signify two distinct but related movements within the wider pro-life movement.

On one level, as described below, Priests for Life refers to a very specific effort to galvanize the clergy to preach, teach, and mobilize their people more effectively in the effort to end abortion and euthanasia.

On another level, Priests for Life represents a family of ministries that reach and enrich every aspect of the pro-life movement, for clergy and laity alike, in a wide variety of activities. This has come to pass precisely because priests are not ordained for themselves, but for the people. So in activating clergy, we are activating all the segments of the Church, the pro-life movement, and the wider society in the defense of life.

We refer to this wider family of ministries as Gospel of Life Ministries, to indicate that what unites them all is the Gospel of Life, the good news that life is victorious over death!

So whether you are clergy or laity, young or old, active or inactive, and whatever your religious or ethnic background, you're in the right place if you want to do something to restore protection to the most vulnerable members of the human family!

The Love That Makes Tough Men Cry

by Kristi Burton Brown
Live Action News

He sat across from us at dinner, wiping his eyes just a bit. The tears seemed to come easily, when they were least expected – except, by now, he’d come to expect them. When it came to his son, he was going to get emotional.

He’d just opened a little gift we’d brought for his son who was yet to be born: football jammies with the abbreviation “MVP” on the left chest. The new dad, my husband’s good friend, beamed with pride, and it was obvious that whether his little boy ever played a day of football in his life or not, he was always going to be his dad’s MVP.

Before we dug into our plates of delicious Mexican food, he showed us a video of his son’s first ultrasound. A tiny little gummy bear, with a very round belly, kicking and swinging for all he was worth. Even at the size of mere bean, this little boy wasn’t going to let anyone miss the truth of his humanity.

The Abortion Lobby's Shell Game

From Martin Fox, President
National Pro-Life Alliance

As investigations by your National Pro-Life Alliance and other pro-life and law enforcement groups have shown, Planned Parenthood staff across the country have again and again:

*** Actively abetted minors in avoiding laws that require parental notification -- even if the minor girl is a likely victim of rape.

*** Concealed life or death information on the risks of surgical and drug abortions.

*** Covered up sex trafficking of young girls in violation of laws requiring them to advise authorities.

*** Kept such shoddy accounting practices that it is a lie for them to say that no taxpayer funds are used for abortion.

But that begs the question.

Are the claims by Planned Parenthood true that their so-called "women's health centers" really service women's health needs?

Or are their claims merely a smoke screen for maximizing the money they spend to perform and promote abortions?

Looking at the evidence, it's clear to me that the second interpretation is true.

As you and other NPLA members know, Planned Parenthood gets your tax dollars both in direct government grants and as reimbursement for "costs" of abortion.

But they get even more of your tax money, supposedly for "other services."

But in case after case, evidence shows these other services are a sham.

For example, in Texas, former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson filed a whistleblower lawsuit, charging that the Houston area Planned Parenthood knowingly sent in some $6 million in false claims to Medicaid and covered up its actions.

The suit states the Houston area abortion facility sent in more than 87,000 reimbursement claims for services that were "false, fraudulent, and/or ineligible."

Secondly, in California, former Planned Parenthood financial officer, Victor Gonzalez, says his internal audit estimated Planned Parenthood overcharged California taxpayers $180 million since the late 1990's in the Los Angeles area alone.

And these two examples are just the tip of the iceberg, as more whistleblowers continue to come out of the woodwork.

The bottom line is, it doesn't matter how Planned Parenthood gets their hands on tax dollars.

Whenever taxpayer dollars flow to Planned Parenthood, you can be sure they will find a way to use them to subsidize their deadly abortion business.

That's why Planned Parenthood must not see a penny from taxpayers for any reason and why your continued support of NPLA efforts is so important.

And also why I hope you will help ratchet up the pressure to cut the taxpayer funding completely and crank up the heat in Congress to pass the "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act" to end ALL taxpayer funding for abortionists.

Pro Life OB/GYN Opens Napro Technology Focused Practice in Southeast Pennsylvania

Dr. Ruberu leading a 40 Days for Life Rally in center city Philadelphia

Dr. Monique Ruberu, is a physician affiliated with Holy Redeemer Hospital in Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania, specializing in general obstetrics & gynecology.   A few months ago, she made a decision to stop prescribing contraceptives. Until that time she was one of the busiest doctors in her Ob/Gyn office usually seeing between 20-30 patients a day.

When she decided to stop prescribing contraceptives, a decision was made to move her to her own office space where she could create a new Napro Technology focused practice next door to her current office. In order to make the transition amicable and ensure that she would be able to offer obstetrics in her new office, she made the decision to give up obstetric care for 6 months. Unfortunately this drastically reduced the number of her patients.

Initially she anticipated that her new office space would be available by this past November. Unfortunately it won't be available until January or February of 2015. Nonetheless, she has been given permission to see new patients in her current office.

Dr. Ruberu feels that it is important to fill up her schedule with patients in order to demonstrate that hers is a viable practice. She firmly believes that God wants her to practice medicine that is in alignment with her spiritual and medical beliefs. She realizes that through Him all things are possible. She also hopes that when the word gets out, her schedule will once again be full of wonderful women that she can care for.

Dr. Ruberu currently has office hours available at the Holy Redeemer Hospital medical office building, Suite 118.   The days and hours of practice are:

Mondays (10-12)
Tuesdays (9-5)
Thursdays (9-5)

The phone number for appointments is 215-914-7910

She notes that she will be away on vacation from Dec 20-Jan 5th, but would really like to fill the Jan. and Feb. schedules.

Dr. Ruberu is a strong supporter of natural family planning, and specializes in Creighton Fertility Care and Napro Technology Services.

Note: If you live in or around Southeast Pennsylvania, please get the word out to your pro-life community to support one of the few real pro-life doctors in this area.

OBAMA WANTS YOU TO PAY FOR ABORTIONS—BUT HE DOESN’T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT IT!

Pro-lifers in Congress poised to take action in the new funding bill

by Steven W. Mosher
Population Research Institute

I’m all in favor of providing public health care for the poor and indigent, but the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare) is coming to look more and more like a patchwork quilt of deceit. Everyone by now knows—many from sad experience—that the claims that “If you like your doctor and your health care plan, you can keep your doctor and your health care plan,” were simply not true. Hundreds of thousands of doctors have headed for the exits, driven out of the health care profession by the exorbitant demands of Obamacare. At the same time, those same demands have caused millions of health care plans to be cancelled. It turns out that you can’t keep your doctor if he retired and moved to Florida, or your health care plan if it no longer exists.

But what you may not remember is that the President’s Executive Order on abortion—promising that the tax dollars of pro-life Americans would not be used to pay for abortions or for any health plan that includes coverage for abortion—was a sham as well. It’s no wonder that Cecile Richards, the head of Planned Parenthood, dismissed it at the time as a “symbolic gesture.” No amount of presidential paper can cover up the fact that Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services has not for one moment stopped trying to force people of faith to fund abortions. If we don’t recognize this, then Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber was right. We are stupid.

One tactic being used to strong-arm us all into funding Planned Parenthood’s abortuaries is on display in California. In August of this year, the California Department of Managed Health Care suddenly ordered insurance companies to immediately insert surgical and RU-486 abortion coverage into all of their plans. You will cover abortion, they told insurance companies, even if you had previously promised those buying health insurance, such as employers (i.e., the “plan sponsors”) that their plans would specifically exclude abortion. This lawless action forced insurance companies to break faith with plan sponsors who, for reasons of conscience, had previously asked for plans that did not cover abortion. This includes the Catholic Church, whose schools and hospitals had asked for abortion-free insurance plans.

California’s action is clear violation of federal law. The decade-old Weldon Amendment, which is included in the Labor, Health and Human Services Appropriations bill every year, forbids state and local governments from discriminating against doctors, hospitals or insurers that don’t offer abortion coverage. But—in a now familiar pattern—the autocrats who have taken over our medical care system have little respect for democracy, and none for Life, so they simply ignored the law. In response, the California Catholic Conference has filed a federal civil rights complaint over this patently unlawful action.

But get this: the Weldon Amendment says that the complaint is to be filed with the Office for Civil Rights at the Department of Health and Human Services. That is to say, the only recourse that pro-life Californians currently have in the law is to appeal to the very department that, under Obama’s direction, seems determined to force all Americans to pay for abortions. It will come as no surprise to anyone that the Department of Health and Human Services has taken no action, the Weldon Amendment has not been enforced, and the violation is ongoing.

Obamacare is making us all complicit in abortion in more subtle ways as well. Pro-life researchers at the Family Research Council and Charlotte Lozier Institute have discovered that it is nearly impossible for consumers to reliably determine whether the plans they are considering include abortion on demand (seeObamacareAbortion.com). The insurers, obviously taking their clues from the Obama administration, make it very difficult to find out if your prospective plan covers abortion. This is like going to buy a new car and having the salesman refuse to open the hood, or tell you what size engine lies under it.

Fortunately, led by the pro-life House of Representatives, Congress appears set to start ending these abuses. The bill to fund the government for the coming year—H.R. 83, the “Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act”—contains several pro-life provisions. (It is called, in Washington speak, the “CROmnibus,” since it contains a continuing resolution (or CR) for Homeland Security appropriations only through February 27, while funding the rest of the government until next September by an Omnibus of full legislative text for the remaining appropriations bills.)

The CROmnibus addresses both of the backdoor efforts mentioned above to force us all to pay for crimes committed by others.

First, the CROmnibus notes the complaints that have been made by the Catholic Church against California’s abortion mandate and directs the Secretary of HHS to take action:

Healthcare Provider Complaints. Legislation appropriating funding for the Department of Health and Human Services has carried a general provision relating to health care providers since fiscal year 2005 (Division H, Section 507(d) of Public Law 113-76). Complaints regarding reported violations of these provisions have been filed with the Office for Civil Rights at the Department of Health and Human Services. The Secretary is directed to respond to these complaints expeditiously in accordance with final rule 45 CFR Part 88 published in Federal Register Vol. 76 No. 36.

While HHS could still stonewall, this congressional directive should help move things forward, at the same time that it warns other states that may be considering similar abortion mandates that Congress intends to enforce the Weldon amendment.

Meanwhile, pro-life leaders are continuing to press for the speedy passage of the Abortion NonDiscrimination Act (ANDA), which would make the Weldon Amendment permanent. ANDA would also give Catholics and other pro-life Christians legal protection if agencies, states or localities tried to force them into paying for, participating in, or performing an abortion. After the new congress is sworn in January, ANDA should be swiftly passed by both Houses, and the battle will shift to the White House.

Second, the CROmnibus also includes an “explanatory statement” calling for greater transparency in health plans:

Transparency in Health Plans.—The agreement directs the Secretary to provide additional clarification to qualified health plans, based upon relevant and related GAO findings, to ensure greater consistency and full transparency of coverage options included in health insurance plans prior to plan purchase in the marketplace enrollment process. The agreement requests a timeline for such clarifying guidance to be submitted to the House and Senate Committees on Appropriations within 30 days after enactment of this act.

This should help ensure that health plan consumers know what they are buying—and to avoid inadvertently funding abortions. A complete resolution of the problem—in the form of a law with teeth—will have to wait until the new Congress is sworn in.

Even then, it will take vigilance on the part of Congress to ensure that such pro-life laws are not simply ignored. This administration seems convinced that it knows better than we, the people, how we should live—and when we should die.

A Young Woman's Story

by Mariah

On May 1, 2013, I was raped, lost my virginity, and was only a mere 16 years old. I wasn't ready but I didn't have a choice. If there was one to follow, I knew immediately that I would make the right one. It was the worst thing that I have ever gone through in my life, thus far. I am a fighter and a survivor. I am very fortunate that I was able to cope with that situation well enough to move on and continue on with life.

I waited a full month to tell anyone about what had occurred but after so long, I couldn't keep it to myself any longer. I couldn't deal with it alone. I spent endless nights awake up into the early morning hours thinking about and reliving that incident...attack.. I would often wonder if I had any diseases or had become pregnant. I had a little dog calendar that I would mark off the days to keep track, just in case. I took a black marker to draw a sad face...silly..maybe..but simple enough that no one would think anything of it..if even just that I had a bad day..well, if only they knew..

When everything was out in the open, I had to be interviewed by police, detectives, children's advocates, doctors, and therapists.. It took a toll on me.. It was like I was constantly reliving the events that took place by having to tell my story over and over and over again.

The most traumatizing of them all was, by far, Planned Parenthood. I have always been Pro-Life and had seen the videos showing what really goes on in there but never thought that I would have to experience it first hand.

On the way to our local Planned Parenthood, my grandmother caught me off guard with a very shocking question. She turned to me and asked, "Now if you are pregnant, do you want to raise "it" or get an abortion?" I looked at her with disgust! I could barely think but one of my few thoughts was not considering abortion! I was almost offended! NO! I was offended! This was the woman who raised me? I was living with a monster. I would die during child birth due to medical complications before having an abortion!

When I did get to Planned Parenthood, it was like a zoo. They were, in fact, animals there. There was a makeshift container with, I'm sure, some condom brand that was made by them. I have heard that they purposely put those out knowing they will break in hopes of making money off of an abortion or two. The people working there had terrible attitudes and the woman who came out to bring me into the back was almost ancient.

The back was full of small and dark rooms. It reminded me of something out of the SAW movies. She led me into one and basically interrogated me. Not once did she mention adoption. I am sure saying that word would be like showing a demon holy water or a cross. All she kept drilling me with was how at 16 years old, I was not capable of taking care of a child and wasn't ready..how it would ruin my life. She told me that I don't even know who the father is or his genetics. She told me that my child might turn out disabled. Did I really want that?

My question/answer..does God really want that for me? If he does, that is what I want as well. MY BABY will be loved unconditionally. Father or not. Disabled or not. A child is a child no matter what. Two wrongs do not make a right, meaning rape and abortion wouldn't solve anything.

Maybe a baby would have healed that damaged part of me. Maybe a baby would have been sent by God to turn such as tragedy like rape into a true miracle. I was not about to let this mean and nasty old woman try to take that miracle away from me. Well, I had to take a pregnancy test, one of the several I had to take during the course of four or five months, just to be sure out of paranoia.

I was sent into probably the filthiest and tiniest bathroom in existence. Not only that but she had me swab MYSELF! That is correct! She did not have it done by an actual doctor! I had to basically do some guess work and hope I did it right. Anyway, after going through all of that, I was not pregnant.

I kind of still feel like my non existent pregnancy is a loss that I am mourning. I am 18 years old now and truly hope that one day I will be able to experience such a blessing. For now, I will just reflect on what could have been..and what wouldn't have happened..

Note: This was given to me by a young women to post to this blog. The story is hers, in her own words.

In posting, we hope that others who may find themselves in the same situation, will find comfort and encouragement from her story.
