Abortion Insurance Stopped at Loyola Marymount University

From  Patrick J. Reilly, President
The Cardinal Newman Society

Here's a great example of what one person can do—with your help!—to renew Catholic education and halt the march toward insurance coverage for abortion.

When vigilant philosophy professor James Hanink discovered that his employer, Loyola Marymount University, was covering both abortion and contraception in its insurance plan, he brought the information to the attention of the University and The Cardinal Newman Society. We planned today to report the scandal. But instead—because of a professor's courage, our reporter's queries, and your prayers and support—LMU is dropping its abortion coverage. Thank God, and thank you!

The Cardinal Newman Society has a 20-year record of turning the tide in support of faithful Catholic education. Very often, changes for the better start with one good student, alumnus or parent voicing their concerns and teaming up with the Newman Society. Please consider donating today to help support our work.

We told you last week about our groundbreaking conference, gathering some of the brightest minds in education to discuss solutions for student life departments on Catholic campuses. Now, a surprising new study reports that more teens are choosing to delay sexual activity. This underscores the importance of our work with student life officials, working to uphold and not destroy the virtue of college students.

Please keep us in your prayers!
