Brigham's Northeast Philadelphia Abortion Chamber Re-Opens!

Has Pennsylvania DOH Approved?

The following is a letter sent to Director of Policy and Planning Jennifer Branstetter from Mike McMonagle, President of the the Pro-Life Coalition of PA in reference to re-opening of the abortion facility of Steven Brigham in Northeast Philadelphia.  This facility had been closed on November 25th of this year. (read article on closing here)

At the bottom of this blog, you will find information on contacting Ms. Branstetter as well as Gov. Corbett and Lt. Gov. Cawley.  Please use this information and share with all your family and friends living in the Philadelphia, PA area and ask that they do the same.  We cannot allow the Steven Brigham’s of this country to continually defy the laws of our land.

Dear Sec. Branstetter:

The Steven Brigham-affiliated abortion chamber "Integrity Family Health" (IFH), at 9622 Bustleton Avenue in Philadelphia, was open for "normal business" on Wednesday, December 4, 2013.

The Pa. DOH ordered this abortion chamber to close as of Friday, November 29, 2013. To the best of our knowledge, IFH closed from Nov. 30-Dec. 4, 2013. Brigham's defiance of this Pa. DOH order continues his lengthy record of such defiance of orders from DOHs, zoning boards, state medical boards, and courts. For one example, in March 2003, Brigham defied an Upper Merion Township Zoning Board order and a Montgomery County Common Pleas Court order and continued "operating" his abortion chamber on DeKalb Pike. He closed this abortion chamber only after the Montgomery County District Attorney sent detectives to arrest anyone who continued working at the premises.

I believe that the closure of IFH will require that Gov. Corbett send DOH officials, escorted by state police officers, to padlock IFH.  I request that Gov. Corbett take this action immediately. I also request that the Pa. DOH seek civil penalties against IFH for their defiance of their Nov. 25, 2013 order.

A leader with our Northeast Philadelphia affiliate had a brief conversation with "management" at IFH on Dec. 4, 2013. During this conversation, they alluded that the Pa. DOH had approved their "re-opening" on the condition that no surgical abortions be committed there.
I urge Gov. Corbett not to allow such a "re-opening' for the following reasons:

1. Such a "re-opening" violates the Nov. 25th order;
2. Such a "re-opening" allows IFH to commit medical abortions;
3. Brigham's sordid record should disqualify IFH from having any contact with potential victims for any      reason;
 4. Brigham is a notorious liar. Please read the Dec. 5, 2013 Philadelphia Inquirer article on page A2. The New Jersey Medical Board has cited Brigham for his recent brazen lie to them that he has medical malpractice insurance and
 5. IFH is currently scheduling surgical abortions for Dec. 18, 2013. Members of the news media have demonstrated and are likely to continue to demonstrate significant interest in reporting this story.

Their reporting of Brigham's defiance of the Pa. DOH Nov. 25, 2013 is likely to reflect poorly on Gov. Corbett and those who work for him.

Please act immediately to close Steven Brigham's Northeast Philadelphia abortion chamber.

Sincerely,
Mike McMonagle
President, Pro-Life Coalition of Pa.
