Dec. 14: Celebration of 2013 pro-life victories in Waco
We are less than two weeks away from our big celebration of God’s blessings on two decades of pro-life discipleship in Waco. (1) After 23 years, last April, Planned Parenthood pull the plug on Nobody’s Fool youth conference. (2) In October, Planned Parenthood admitted that its abortuary was closed. PP abortions begin in Waco in 1994.  (Planned Parenthood in Waco will stay open for it harmful business plan with the exception of abortions.)

The battle for life and decency continues.  However, let’s come together to celebrate these two enormous blessings for the Waco area and the pro-life cause.

Here are some details.

When? Saturday, December 14

Where? Church of the Open Door, 900 Loop 340. From I-35, take Exit 339 (Lake Shore Boulevard/Loop 340). Then east less than a block on Loop 340.  Church will be on your left. Venue is at the northern edge of Waco.

What happens?

• Beginning at 10 a.m., praise and presentations from national, state, and Waco pro-life leaders. Also, videos of past skirmishes—such as Girl Scout cookie boycott.

• At noon, free BBQ luncheon & fellowship. (From Waco’s best: Uncle Dan’s.)

We will also have a slide show and newspaper display of pro-life events in Waco.
Of course we will have speakers from the Waco pro-life infantry. Additionally, we are honored to have several out-of-town speakers including: Jim Sedlak (American Life League), Joe Pojman (Texas Alliance for Life), Abby Johnson (former manager of Bryan abortion clinic) Molly White (Women for Life International), Daniel Vinzant (STOPP Dallas) and Monica Cline (former instructor at Nobody’s Fool conference).

This afternoon I taped a 60-second spot that will be run on KBW Christian Radio (1010AM). On Tuesday December 10 at 9 a.m., I will discuss the Waco pro-life victories on the Lynn Woolley Talk Show. This will be on KTEM (1400AM) out of Temple. The day before our celebration, Friday December 13, I will be a guest on Jim Sedlak’s radio program “Armed for Battle”. We will talk about battles won and rearming for battle in 2014. The time is 11 to noon Central Time. You can listen via the Internet at http://radiomaria.us

Please invite your friends to come on December 14.  You can print invitations from the pdf file you will find here.

No Second Sunday Pro-Life Gathering in December.
Pro-Life Waco will NOT hold its usual Second Sunday Pro-Life luncheon meeting in December. Let’s place our energy and focus on the Celebration event on December 14 at Church of the Open Door. By the way, the pastor of Church of the Open Door is Rev. Ronnie Holmes.  Pastor Ronnie has been the leader for prayer and sidewalk counseling at the Waco Planned Parenthood killing centers for over a decade.

Thrive! chastity program for youths in Waco on Friday December 6
The Thrive! program for Christian sexuality education is beginning its second year in Waco. Thrive! is building on the huge success of year one for the sake of our children and grandchildren. Thrive! is a joint outreach of St. Louis Parish Waco, Catholic Diocese of Austin, and the CareNet Pregnancy Center of Central Texas.

Chastity speaker Matt Fradd will deliver a program on Friday December 6 for youths in grades 7 through 12. Matt experienced a profound conversion from agnosticism to Christianity in 2000. The resulting transformation in his sexual life was profound and led to sharing his insights and experience internationally with thousands of youths. Fradd has joined Jason Evert, who spoke at last year’s Thrive! event, in the Chastity Project!  (See www.chastityproject.com) Thrive! is a free event. While the focus is on youths, adults are welcome to attend. The location is the St. Louis Catholic Church at 2001 North 25th Street.  The time on Friday December 6 is 7 to 9 p.m. For more information and to register, go to ThriveTexas.org or call Molly Wilmington at 254-537-1326.

Here is a flyer for this tremendous offering from Thrive!

Pro-Life Waco website
After many months of neglect, I have been working a lot on www.prolifewaco.com I have incorporated a lot of photos and video.  Check it out.  If you see errors, let me know.  I can take it.

I am so thankful and fired up about the great pro-life collaboration we have in Waco and the great state of Texas.  We will celebrate that collaboration in December 14 and get our batteries charged for more to come in 2014.

  1. You're a very negative person, John. I'm sure some of them had time to think about what they were doing and decided to do the right thing and let their baby live.
