Powerful Testimony and Challenge at Annual Stand Up for Life Dinner

1300 prolifers, young and old, were in attendance at the 34th annual Stand Up for Life Dinner. Many came from the Philadelphia area and its surrounding suburbs while a few come from great distances to enjoy an evening of celebrating the gift of life.

Bishop Thomas Paprocki of Springfield, IL was a special guest that evening after running in his 22nd marathon in Philadelphia earlier that morning. He represents a group called Life Runners who chose the Philadelphia marathon for 2016 after planning it for three years. Soon they will be joining the Pro-Life Union in light of a chapter expanded to Philadelphia area.

This year Karen Gaffney, the first woman with down syndrome, was the guest speaker. In her talk, she challenged those in attendance to give life a chance. She is one of 10 survivors  with down syndrome.

Along with her keynote address, Father Walsh mentions that those who continue to support life have helped expand the 40 Days Outreach to now seven locations, more women are choosing life, but more had to be done in 2017 and beyond. He also tells them that the Sisters of Life will be moving to Philadelphia in Summer 2017.
