Please Let Them Grow
by Judith Alciatore
Success, Dear Lord, they drove away
A life spared from this mill
Suddenly, a brighter day
They hearkened to Thy Will
And I, a tiny hand in Thine
Whose voice was small, yet heard
Obeying Holy Law Divine
To carry out Thy Word
My heart so full as tears rolled on
As though to cleanse my soul
To know upon the morrow’s dawn
A brand-new life is whole
But tears of joy are overcome
By tears of sorrow, too
For those who say “My will be done”
And turn their backs on you
Another day is dawning now
As I prepare to pray
And with renewal of my vow
To save a life today
God, smile upon our efforts here
In this dark vale below
We know You hold Your children dear
Dear Lord, please let them grow
Thank You, Lord!
This pro-life poem was given to me by God during the time my 40 Days for Life team was praying at the local abortuary. Thank You, Lord, that it closed its doors.
If you are praying and holding vigil in front of an abortion mill, please feel free to use this poetic prayer if you wish.
