Pro-Life Ministry Outreach in Waco and Much More!

People were bringing children to Jesus that he might touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this he became indignant and said to them, "Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the Kingdom of God like a child will not enter it." Then he embraced the children and blessed them, placing his hands on them. Mark 10:13-16

1. Destruction of preborn babies this Wed/Thur/Friday in Waco.

Above, you see the ministry agenda for Pro-Life Waco. The first and most severe challenge is abortions beginning on Wednesday. I wish it were not so. However, Waco is one of only eight cities where there is a dedicated center for killing Jesus’ precious little ones. I ask you to prayerfully consider an hour or two or three of prayer and public witness for babies and mom saved from abortion. On Wednesday, Aine Fitzgerald will lead a Rosary from 9 to 9:30 followed by ecumenical prayer for the next half hour. This is a special time of life-defender fellowship.

2. Let’s keep expanding First Sunday Life Chain Sunday.

We had an excellent Life Chain outreach in on the first Sunday of May. 19 life defenders were on site at the corner of Valley Mills Drive and Waco Drive exuberantly proclaiming the Gospel of Life. Our ministry is getting stronger and must continue to grow to challenge one of the greatest evils that has ever confronted the city of Waco. I am praying for at least an additional 10 life defenders this coming Sunday June 3, from 2 to 3 PM. Our neighbors will see from our public witness that the defense of life in Central Texas has risen to new heights. Look for the billboard truck near Pei Wei restaurant and your life defender friends will be nearby. Here is a photo from May Life Chain.

3. A “Don’t Miss” Second Sunday on June 10

You will experience an amazing testimony and stay engaged on new initiatives of prophetic life-defender witness in Central Texas. Here is the ad that will run in the Waco Tribune-Herald the next two Saturdays on the Religion Page.

4. Now a 14’ x 48’ life-saving billboard in Speegleville

Pro-Life Waco has its second 14’ x 48’ billboard on display on HWY 6 to plea to moms traveling to Planned Parenthood for abortions. This will be the first abortion week for this big billboard in the small city of Speegleville. Most travelers to Waco from the vast area of West Texas will be on HWY 6 going through Speegleville. To see the billboard drive 3-4 miles past the twin bridges over Lake Wake. Take the Spur 412 Exit. Come back over HWY 6 to the service road. Drive about a half-mile and you will see this wonderful billboard on your right.

Our first large billboard (near Providence Hospital) reached out to the vast majority of travelers to Planned Parenthood. With the new billboard in Speegleville, we have all the bases covered. While billboards are of great value, the most important “signs” are life-defenders offering prophetic witness against the evil of abortion.

5. Let your cell phone help you stay informed about life-defender outreach

Pro-Life Waco has begun using text messages to supplement email to keep you informed about pro-life events a day or so in advance. If you will be a part of this, just send me a text message to 254-644-0407 with the message “subscribe”.

You will receive from zero to two messages each week. With the platform I am using, any responses will be sent only to me -- not everyone in the group. As Central Texans, we have taken on an unprecedented challenge to Planned Parenthood in Waco. We must strengthen our game plan to defend those who cannot defend themselves.

6. Ireland eliminated constitutional protections for babies in the womb

I’m sure you’ve heard the news from Ireland. The life defender side not only lost in the vote last Friday, but the support for abortion was overwhelming. I was shaken and saddened. I read the explanations that were given. I am more of a person of action than complicated logic. My conclusion is that to have pro-life laws enacted and maintained, the underlying culture and moral values must continue to be strengthened. In Central Texas, we are on the right track continuing to appeal and to persuade our fellow citizens that ABORTION HURTS--the message of our billboards. Abortion hurts babies, moms, families church congregations, and abortion providers themselves. Let us continue the noble cause of defending life by our own efforts and by drawing fellow Christians and pastors into the robust participation. Let us pray for courage and wisdom for the steps and words we offer to our community.
