Tell Notre Dame: No Award for Pro-abort Joe Biden

Eric Scheidler, Executive Director
Pro-Life Action League

The University of Notre Dame is at it again.

They've just announced that they're giving their prestigious Laetare Award to our pro-abortion Vice President, Joe Biden, during their commencement ceremony in May.

It was bad enough when they invited President Obama to give the commencement address in 2009 -- sparking a massive protest that the Pro-Life Action League helped to organize.

But Joe Biden is a professing CATHOLIC. He even claims to be "personally pro-life," but says he can't "impose" his faith on others. That's the kind of thinking that has kept abortion legal for the past 43 years.

I'm working on plans for a protest at Notre Dame, but I hope it won't come to that. There's still time to convince Notre Dame president Fr. John Jenkins to cancel this award.

Please CALL and EMAIL Fr. Jenkins and respectfully request that he cancel his plans to honor Vice President Biden. If possible, please also WRITE and FAX his office. Here's all the info:

FAX: 574-631-7428

I know how unlikely it is that Fr. Jenkins will change course. He didn't relent when we called on him not to honor Barack Obama back in 2009, and he probably won't back down now.

But he still needs to hear from us. He still need to know he is betraying unborn children and the Catholic faith Notre Dame claims to profess when he confers an honor like this on a Catholic public figure who supports abortion.

We owe it to our unborn brothers and sisters to speak out against this. Please help FLOOD Fr. Jenkins's email inbox, phone line, and mailbox with pleas on their behalf that he cancel this award.

And if our pleas fall on deaf ears, stay tuned for details about joining a protest at Notre Dame in May.

  1. Bishop Kevin Rhoades of Fort Wayne-South Bend, Indiana should cut off all ties with Notre Dame.

Why don't all Bishops cut off all ties with any school that does not live up to Catholic teaching? There was one Bishop in California a few years back that did just that.
