Planned Parenthood has announced that it will close its facility in Blacksburg, Virginia, and refer patients to its Roanoke location.
Paige Johnson, senior vice president at Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, suggested the closure was due to a drop in clientele and the expansion of other providers in the area that offer health care at little to no cost.
The location at 700-J N Main Street, which opened 30 years ago, now advertises medication abortions up to eight weeks and six days LMP. With other alternatives in the region, the need for the Blacksburg Planned Parenthood is non-existent.
Planned Parenthood mentioned the “changes” that led to the closure of the Blacksburg location are not unique to Virginia. Comprehensive health clinics far outnumber Planned Parenthood facilities nationwide, and more Americans are choosing life instead of abortion. However, the abortion giant receives over $500 million in taxpayer funding every year — $1.5 million every day.
Recently, states across the country have taken action to defund the abortion giant as undercover videos exposed Planned Parenthood’s role in the harvesting of aborted baby parts. Lawmakers have urged for a diversion of Planned Parenthood’s public funding towards comprehensive health clinics, which outnumber the abortion business 20 to 1.
