Survive

by John Bennett

Where are the innocent now?
Defenseless when taken away
Without a choice, yet they still have a voice
Do you wonder where they are today?
What would the unborn say?

From the womb by force I was taken
To a tomb where they buried my rights
I was a gift from God to my Momma
Until she was deceived for a time
I hope she knows that I still forgive her
And takes the time, to tell others the truth
For whatever it’s worth, or wherever you’re at
Mommy, I still love you

I’m still a part; I once shared your heart
After I was conceived
Now please don’t cry, for redemption draws nigh
In the freedom that you seek
All the hurt from the past, does not have to last
Break away all those chains of pain
There’s forgiveness and love, awaiting from above,

If you call upon His name
The days were few that we shared together
The sonogram was an image of me
Our DNA so closely related
But lost my freedom within your liberty
Now I’m not alone, it’s great here in Heaven
I’ve got a name, and a body a new
I long to see you one day, with the Lord we can stay
Daddy, I’m waiting for you

I’m still a part; I once shared your heart
After I was conceived
Now please don’t cry, for redemption draws nigh
In the freedom that you seek
All the hurt from the past, does not have to last
Break away all those chains of pain
There’s forgiveness and love, awaiting from above,
If you call upon His name

Why worry about prenatal care, if a human isn’t there
Won’t someone tell me why? (baby coos in the background)
She’s a child not a choice; He’s a baby with no voice
They’re both humans in the womb, a different stage that’s yet to bloom
So why are all the innocent dying? Why, have untold millions been silenced?
Why? Oh tell me why?
Why? When it’s a child not a fetus?
Why? Do you think God doesn’t see us?
Why? Oh tell me why?
Why…………must the unborn die?

She’s a child, not a choice
He’s a baby with no voice,
Let the unborn child “survive”
Oh tell me, tell me, tell me, oh woe won’t you tell me why (baby coos)
Oh tell me, tell me, tell me, oh woe won’t you tell me why…
“But God will redeem my life from the grave; he will surely take me to himself.” Psalms 49:15
