Google Trends Finds Both Missourians and the Nation as a Whole Keenly Searching the Abortion Issue

Clearly abortion is on the minds of the American people. And that is always good for unborn babies.

Even when the media tell us that abortion is not important as an issue in elections, we know better. But occasionally, as was revealed this week in a story written for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, we see how widespread is interest in the fate of unborn babies.

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D) is the pro-abortion incumbent who is in a very, very tight race with pro-life Republican Attorney General Josh Hawley. The latest RealClearPolitics average of polls has Hawley ahead by 4/10ths of one percent!

The Post-Dispatch headlined its story, “What are Missourians searching for before the Nov. 6 election?” Here’s Beth O’Malley explaining how they answered that question:

Google Trends allows people to see what people are searching for through the search engine. Data is adjusted to compare relative popularity, adjusting for areas with higher search volume, and then scaled from 0 to 100 — based on that search’s proportion to all searches in the area. The trends show what people are curious about. Here’s a look at what Missourians searched for through Google:

Here are the top five: Health care, Immigration, Social Security, Abortion, and Minimum wage. For the week of Oct. 7-13, when it comes to what people in Missouri are searching for, Health Care remained #1, but abortion is now a clear #2!

What about nationally? What does Google Trends tell us?

Bearing in mind the old cliché (which is true nonetheless) that these results are “snapshots in time,” for October 6th and 7th, abortion ranked second, for October 8th it ranked third.

We are just 27 days away from the November 6th mid-term elections. Clearly abortion is on the minds of the American people. And that is always good for unborn babies.
