Three of the witnesses Christine Ford claims attended the party where Judge Brett Kavanaugh supposedly assaulted her have confirmed they have absolutely no knowledge of either the party nor of Kavanaugh engaging in the kind of sexual misconduct Ford claims happened.
Mark Judge, Leland Keyser and Patrick J. Smyth have all been interviewed by the FBI for its probe and all three came to the same conclusion that they have no recollection of this supposed party where Kavaaugh allegedly sexually assaulted Ford nor do they recall Kavanaugh behaving that way.
The FBI had interviewed four people in its probe into Judge Brett Kavanaugh as of Monday afternoon, but the three witnesses whom Christine Blasey Ford alleges were at the party in her testimony do not recall the gathering, according to the Washington Post’s sources.
The FBI has talked to alleged party guests Mark Judge, Leland Keyser and Patrick J. Smyth and Kavanaugh’s Yale classmate Deborah Ramirez, who said that Kavanaugh had exposed himself to her during their college years, according to WaPo.
“[Smyth] truthfully answered every question the FBI asked him and, consistent with the information he previously provided to the Senate Judiciary Committee, he indicated that he has no knowledge of the small party or gathering described by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, nor does he have any knowledge of the allegations of improper conduct she has leveled against Brett Kavanaugh,” Smyth’s lawyer Eric B. Bruce said in a statement, according to WaPo.
“Mr. Judge has been interviewed by the FBI but his interview has not been completed,” Judge’s lawyer Barbara Van Gelder said in a statement Monday, according to CNN. “We request your patience as the FBI completes its investigation.”The FBI had not interviewed Ford as of Monday, according to a source cited by WaPo. Judge Kavanaugh –and all who were alleged to be present during the supposed incident – deny it ever occurred.
Leland Keyser, identified as one of five people at the party where Ford claims this incident occurred, said previously that it never happened. She previously said she “does not know Kavanaugh and she has no recollection of ever being at a party or gathering where he was present, with or without Dr. Ford.”
Keyser has reiterated her statement — she told the Judiciary Committee over the weekend that she stands by her statement that she doesn’t remember any such party and doesn’t recall even having met Judge Kavanaugh. She said she will cooperate fully with the FBI.
As CBS News reports:
On Saturday, Keyser said through her lawyer in a letter to the committee that she was willing to “cooperate fully with the FBI’s supplemental investigation” into Kavanaugh.
“However, as my client has already made clear, she does not know Judge Kavanaugh and has no recollection of ever being at a party or gathering where he was present, with, or without, Dr. Ford,” the letter from Howard Walsh, Keyser’s attorney, said. It continued that Keyser “does not refute Dr. Ford’s account, and she has already told the press that she believes Dr. Ford’s account.”
“However, the simple and unchangeable truth is that she is unable to corroborate it because she has no recollection of the incident in question,” the letter continued.
